Ten-Ticket Giveaway for Albuquerque Living Proof Live!

Sorry I’m delayed on getting this invitation out there, Siestas! My life is a roller coaster right this minute. Among other things, my wonderful hair stylist didn’t have enough time this morning to do both color and a cut and I had to decide between the two. What do you mean, which did I choose? Are you kidding? Color! Still, it was entirely too much to ask of a person. After all, I paid out with great highlights and hair nearly to my waist. Of course, I’m overblowing this whole thing in case you’re thinking I need to get a life. And if you’re not thinking that and, instead, feeling sorry for me, you may be my best friend. Anyway, I studied my commentaries the whole time I was there. I’m not just blonder than I pay to be. I’m a real student. I just want to be a real student with great hair. Now you’ve gone and made me feel defensive. Sniff.

Even this late in the week, I still want to pitch the opportunity out there for anybody who wants to go to the Albuquerque LPL this Friday night and Saturday till noon but can’t spare the money for a ticket! If you’re among the first ten women to call, I’ve got you a seat, Girlfriend. Please call Living Proof Ministries toll free at 1-888-700-1999 and ask for Susan or Kimberly and, thanks to the Siesta Scholarship Fund, we’ll get you fixed right up. Call any time till 4:30 CST today or from 8:30-4:30 CST tomorrow (Friday). IF YOU WANT TO COME, WE WANT YOU THERE.

We love you, Siestas!

PS. I’ll be the 52 year-old with the long hair.

I totally get the whole hair dilemma.
Very upsetting…but you definitely made the right choice.
It doesn't matter how great your cut looks if you've got color issues!

    Holly says:

Wish I could come, but it's our boy Tabor's birthday. Next time you are near, OK?

And maybe I shouldn't ask this question, you know more about what's right and what's just not done and also since I am no hair expert by a long length… Could you have someone else cut your hair? There I said it. Is it a faux pas?

    Teresa Henry says:

Love your hair story…totally relate! Long story–short–I'm a single mom, not working, hair gone bad :)…my 13 year old daughter needed her hair cut, so I took her in to get it cut. My sweet, amazing 20something non believing hairdresser told me there is no way she was going to let me go around town telling people she cut my hair they way I looked—she said at least let me cover your gray…her treat…so after much kicking and screaming I agreed…when she got me in the chair she started foiling, coloring and cutting and I left with a cute hair cut…and not grey and a totally humbled 42 year old with now great hair! Love her…Love God…(she cut, foiled, and colored my hair, and cut my daughter and son's hair for $20). God blesses us in so many ways…

What can I say? It's a girls life! Sorry Beth, I just got home from my hair appt. and was able to get both color and cut! This may not be the case next month, my girl is due to have a baby the 29th. I'll have to do some serious planning, know what I mean? Love you and your blonde locks. Be abundantly blessed this weekend!

    Laretha says:

I had the same hair issue…only I'm the one who only had time for a CUT – I didn't have time for color! It's bad Beth, it's really bad!

    BeBe says:

Just get those scissors out, girl and trim your bangs – you'll feel "uplifted" in no time! I do it between cuts and colors and it does wonders for the "in-between" phase.
Praying you up for this weekend!

Oh now, nevermind! I will see you this weekend!! I told my hubby that you were going to be in Albuquerque this weekend and he said, "If you can get a ticket, I'll switch our trip around and we can go." Yay for good husbands and yay for this lovely Siesta Scholarship fund! God is good and I just knew I'd make it to see you up close and personal one of these days! I can't wait and I'll pray for the event during my 8-hour drive to see you! ๐Ÿ™‚

you def went right with the color! i am 36 weeks and half pregnant and haven't had my hair colored since right before i was preg. poor planing i know! i know they tell you can color while pregnant and most do. i just feel better not doing it, but my hair although cut cute looks horrible -especially for those people who are taller than me and can see the top of my head! i am basically left with dishwater colored hair with whats left of a blond ponytail when just the top part of my hair is pulled up! i guess the newborn pictures with me in them will be adorable! ha! oh well! have fun this weekend – wish i could be there, but given the fact the dr says it could be anyday i think i better stay right here!

    thanks for the laugh!

I got the Beth Moore book "90 Days With The One and Only" and the three sets of Scripture cards all for the great sale price of $9.99!!!! That was my favorite purchase of the day! I got it at Mardel's in OKC. I am so excited to start it!

You are just TOO funny, Beth!

p.s. Those family vacation photos in the previous post were just wonderful to see! I was tempted to be envious to wish I could be a part of a "perfect" family like that… but I caught myself. From what you've shared in the past about your family's imperfect life, I know better than to think that way. But thanks for sharing your "family-redeemed-by-Christ" photos!

I decided this morning I'd better get my hair cut before I go to Living Proof Live this weekend so just returned from cutting off all that excess weight and now feeling cool and 'light-headed.' ๐Ÿ™‚

Now Beth, a year ago I decided to let my dyed black locks go 'natural' so I didn't have to make the choice between dying it and cutting it this morning.

Proverbs 16:31 " Gray hair is a crown of splendor: it is attained by a righteous life." I'm wearing my crown of splendor to come see you, Beth…

Want to join me? ๐Ÿ™‚ Come on, girl. You can do it! I know you can! Queen Esther will have nothing on you once you let your silver crown shine! Just walk away from the bottle of Clairol and don't look back… ๐Ÿ™‚

Soooo looking forward to tomorrow to hear what ever God has laid on your heart for us Albuquerque Siestas! I know we will be richly blessed and may our love for you come right at 'cha and bless you back BIG!!

    See you tomorrow!!!

We love you, and totally get your hair jokes…no need to explain.

Just watched your first session of the Deeper Still w/ Kay and Priscilla. Knocked me upside down…to be transformed, not just delaying the next pit…God is not going to allow my life to manageable, because I will just manage it…we've got to move past our devastation with God…powerful stuff Mama Beth…and all with great looking hair. Thank you for all you do in order to be an effective disciple to us!

Will be praying for you guys this week.
Beth: I sending you a card to show the affect your Bible Study has had on me. I am at 60 pound weight loss, 5 sizes in pants and am back in ladies shirts. It has been such a wild ride. I can't help sharing it, beause it has been such a God thing. Never have I been able to lose weight like this. Thank you GOd and thank you Beth for sharing HIM with me.

    Bobbie says:

You're a hoot! What we go through for our hair…I made an appt earlier this week to have my roots darkened! I was about 3 weeks late in doing this so I REALLY needed this appt. Yesterday, five minutes before I left for the salon, I got a call to say that her appt. before mine showed up & wanted "2" colors instead of her regular all over color!! 'Please come about 20 minutes late. No problem..this stylist is supposed to be worth waiting for! I showed up and this lady not only wanted two colors she had the longest hair I've seen in a LONG time! Now mind you, it was a beautiful head of hair, but so much of it!! I waited 1 full hour past my original appt to get started! While my hair was 'cooking' I watched her shampoo this girl's hair. It took her 42 minutes to WASH it. I'm just sick that I missed seeing it dried and styled. BUT, my hair is all one color and I'm lovin' my new salon!

Oh, well…have a great time in Albuquerque! I know God is planning something HUGE for all who are there. It may be cooler there than here in Texas!!

    Love and blessings, Bobbie

Ok…you will die when you hear this one! I have only colored my hair once in my whole 39 years on this planet and I am terrible at getting to the salon…I think my last actual haircut was about 9 months ago! Whoops!

P.S. In my defense I'm dark brunette so the highlights thing doesn't work so well on me!

    Beth,

If you want to see a funny story from someone who can relate, check out Jennifer Rothschild's Eye Liner, Lip Liner story on Youtube. She is hilarious. I know I'm not your bf, but I do feel sorry for you! I do some friends, my daughters'and my man's hair occasionally.(Yes, I do have a license to do hair!) Recently, I was frustrated at how to do my 14 year old's hair because she doesn't want to do anything to it, including brushing it, but likes it long. She has been blessed, like you, with thick hair. I didn't realize how thick until I took her to my hairdresser, who told my daughter,"Emily, you make all my thick-haired clients look bald!" I saved the hair in bag, took it home and weighed it because we were all curious how much she really had. 1/4 pound of hair was taken out of the child's head and that barely made a dent!
Have a wonderful time in NM this weekend! I'm already praying! I'm sure all the Siestas who attend will be blessed! Love y'all!

    Kellye says:

Beth, you make me feel better about my own hair needs. I would have chosen color also. At least a fresh color gives my hair lots of body (which is code for easy to make my hair big and puffy just the way I like it.)
    Love you sister.

I know how painful it is to feel like you have a bad hair day, nobody notices it, but we feel it….deep down.
Actually I'll be going to a simulcast the end of August ( I live in Maryland), I am soooo excited. I already have my ticket and can hardly wait.

By the way…If I am going to feel sorry for anyone, it's me!! I am 5 months pregnant Beth and that means NO COLOR AT ALL!! Just haircuts. My poor head looks so helpless these days….I really need my highlights!! Do you think this child will appreciate all of this one day?

Love your hair! I have never seen you with a bad hair day yet. It's just not possible. It must run in the family because Melissa and Amanda have great hair, as well.

But more importantly, I just wanted to shout out to you that your teaching on "Wrestling With God" on Life Today has been MUCH needed medicine for me. I watched yesterday's Wed.w/Beth 5 times and boy did I need that word right now in my life. POWERFUL stuff.

    Suzanne says:

Oh Beth, the Hair thing again! I just took the scissors to my own hair last week because it keeps growing too fast and did the Meg Ryan thing, that way I didn't have to get it even. I think it looks good but I suspect that I maybe in denial and ignoring the Holy Spirit promting me to go to a hair stylist. But I would need a scripture to back that up first because my heart alone might just be deceiving me and I wouldn't want to give in to satan. It just might look really good after all and maybe satans working on me. Don't ever let satan get ahold of your hair, he might disguise himself as a hairdresser if your not careful. I just love you too much to not warn you. May our hair always be "like a flock of goats descended from Gilead" SS 6:5
