I would like to take a moment to apologize to all of you for the fact that when my sister called to get my favorite quote last week, all I could come up with was something my 3-year-old says about skunks. It went something like this:
Melissa: “Hey, Mand! I need to know your favorite quote for a blog post.”
Me: Looks down at the baby pool she’s sitting in while she watches her son play in the sand box. Laughs.
Melissa: “Why are you laughing?”
Me: “I’ve got nothing. Call me back in an hour and I’ll have thought of something.”
An hour later, I still had nothing. What I did have was a pathetic case of mommy mush brain. I wish I could say that I’m thinking about or even reading lofty and inspirational words when I’m hanging out with my kids day in and day out. It just isn’t true. But I have enough little kid quotes to sink a ship. For instance, this morning Curtis sat down with Jackson and me at the breakfast table to pray with us before he left for work. (This doesn’t happen every day, but we’re trying.) He said, “Okay, Jackson, what do you want Daddy to pray for you about?” Jackson said, “Ummmmm, sprinkled donuts!”
Lofty quotes I have not, but that which I have, I give to thee!
How about some pictures?
These are from our recent trip to Disney World.
These are from Annabeth’s dedication service at church.
Janelle and Ella came down for the weekend. (Janelle actually made that pink tutu for Annabeth.)
These are from Memorial Day, which we spent at Lake Conroe with some generous friends.
Curtis was trying out Jackson’s first fishing pole.
Here’s Jackson with the worm he named “Clumsy.”
Annabeth thought it was too loud at Marble Slab.
And here’s my almost-four-month-old in her robe after bathtime.
Mom, I think she looks just like me and Melissa here!
Oops.
Where’s the stuffed animal. Love the pictures. How I wish mine were that little again.
Those pictures of Annabeth are absolutely precious!!!! I love that pink chair you have her sitting in!!!
PS: I think Mother quotes are the best there are. ๐
The quotes were nice, but these pictures are to die for….I do believe the LPM blog is back to “normal” now!!
Thanks for sharing these pictures….too cute of a family not to share. AND such variety from Disney to bath time…thanks Amanda!!!
Now it’s time for a summer bible study….was it slated for June?
Amanda,
You don’t ever have to appologize for “Mama mushbrain”. Believe me, I also had a hard time thinking of any thing great. My first thought was, “Aunt Jan, Can I get on your pecuter?” Not deep but I love it. Or “Mom Bandon is aggabating me gain!” I just love it. They grow up so fast. Hang on to those little sayings. My oldest is not a senior in high school and “Bandon still agabates him”! (But he says it right now even though I still hear it in little boy style)
I loved your quote and even repeated it in the car when we went by a snunk. I loved the pictures. Thanks for sharing your precious family with us.

Oh my.. what great picts and what beautiful kids! Love the ones of Annabeth in her bathrobe. I hope Bibby is going to get them tonight and get all kinds of sugar!

Amanda,
Love the unadulterated truth. The MOJOFitz Family has a wonderful way with words. Also, you have great photographic ability as the photos are wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
They are both so cute – I can’t believe it. I love how Jackson named the worm “clumsy” if indeed a worm could be clumsy, how would we know. Thanks for sharing all the pics with us – I so enjoy seeing your family.
PS: The pink robe, too much!
this post is, like, quintessential cuteness!!!!!
She is adorable! I see alot of Jackson in her. I bet he loved Disney World.
I still have Mommy mush brain and my kids are older… wonder if it will ever go away?!?
Ok the picture after the bath in her robe… needs be in a magazine… those eyes… precious… just precious… your kids are just gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing! Love it! Oh Bibby, I know you are beside yourself! Emmy : )
Absolutely love those pictures, Amanda!!! Keep them coming!!!! Annabeth is getting so big and is so precious!!!!!
Don’t feel too bad Amanda. I wasn’t reading anything deep or inspiring when I was home with little ones either. =)

who better to quote than your own children! Goodness knows so many of us quote your mom on a regular basis. You all are just the greatest.

Mommy mush brain is only surpassed by “Grandma mush brain” happens all the time after I spend time with my grandkids. All I can do is talk like and think like I think they do!!! So, great quote! Wonderful pictures!!! I’m ready for the Summer Bible Study too. I was wondering about the details myself – I’ve purchased my book.

At least you had a quote! I still have not come up with one! The pictures are too cute. Sweet babies. I know you know that you have the best job ever. Mine are grown and gone from home – one for this side of the world – so enjoy and do the thing!!
Love ya, Vicki
Could there ever be a cuter picture than a “girly” girl in her gorgeous pink bathrobe. I love the pics and you, my dear one, are a very good photographer!!
Amanda, I totally understood the quote. I have two boys, ages 3 and 4.5 yrs. Little kid quotes are all I have too!
Cute photos!
Heather
‘Mommyisms’ are awesome! Your stories are wonderful. Be sure to write down all their quotes, they’re so much fun to go back to as they grow up and have kiddos of their own!
Annabeth’s such a cutie, she still reminds me of Jackson when he was little. Those eyes are incredible, just like Jackson–they just jump out and grab your heart!!!
Thanks for the pictures!
You have a beautiful family…
my favorite mommy quote “I eat poopy” … I heard those words from behind the closed bedroom door of our twin 2yr old foster boys when it was supposed to be nap time! … upon entering the bedroom I found that they had taken off their diapers and we playing with the aforementioned mess. It perfectly summed up how my day was going, so now when I am having a bad day I think “I eat poopy” and then burst out laughing! My day always gets better after that!!
Mommy Mush Brain! I have that, too. With my 6 month old, a 2.5 year old, and a 4 year old, plus a puppy, I’ve got it bad. Keep up the good work, Amanda. Love seeing pictures and hearing of another mom’s life.
Just darling! And, for the record… I think that Mommy Mush Brain lasts until the kids get to Middle School. Then, we moms must keep our thinking caps on and be sharp brained at all times!
Those pictures are absolutely precious!!!
There’s nothing better than quotes from our little ones!
Precious! And Mommy quotes are the best. ๐
blessings,
stephanie
Whew. I feel so much better now that I know what Curtis looks like. ๐
We just got back from Disney World and I have almost the exact same picture of my son with Pooh from the Character Breakfast. So fun!!!
adorable pictures!!
Loved the pics!!! Annabeth in her hooded bathrobe is the cutest! She was born to wear pink!
I love kid quotes, and I love looking at pictures. Thanks so much for sharing.
Blessings
So cute!!
Love these pictures! Especially the one of you, Annabeth and Snow White! Precious!!
I am cracking up at the quote scenario! I know Momma Mush Brain well. My 4 yr old gets so offended when I call her her 4 other siblings names before I make it to her own. I try to explain I KNOW who she is, but mom’s brain is just really full sometimes!
One of my favorite kid quotes: My 4 yr old was playing with my make up, I tell her to close the drawer and stop, so she says, ” Mom, I am trying to look pwetty like a lady. Do you want me to look like the Joker?” She follows this with a really squenched up face and her hands curled up by her cheeks. We dont watch Batman around here so I am not sure about the reference but I fell out laughing! I remember this often as I sit down to try and make myself PWETTY!! I certainly dont want to look like the Joker!:)
I want a Minnie pair of sunglasses and a hair band/bow like Annabeth. That’s some stylin’ there.
Thanks for sharing your darling children with all of us in Siestaville. Your pics always bring back sweet memories of when my kids were that entertaining (exhausting) stage.
Warm in Alaska.
Amanda she looks just like you! Put some luscious hair on that head and we have a match!!!
I want Caroline to be 4 months old again and I want to put a bath robe on her!!! TOO CUTE!
How much did Jackson love tubing? ๐
Amanda, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful family. Never apologize for “Mommy mush brains” It will be gone way too soon.
Amanda,
Love the pics. Looks like some fun time off. I like the pink bathrobe pics, especially when they don’t all look like perfect portraits. The “oops” of life are important. I was just imagining that Annabeth and you will soon be like that new Target commercial with the mom and little daughter on the couch having a spa day in their matching flip flops, fluffy white bathrobes and towels piled high on their heads. So cute!
~Lynnette in Houston
I wish you could have heard 2800 people go “awwwwwwww” when your mom put Annabeth and the tutu on the screen. (in Laramie)
Don’t you fret about reading lofty stuff. You’re DOING lofty stuff. God is pleased!
Melana
the pictures are just adorable. Such precious little ones. How I wish my twins were that small again.
thanks for sharing with us.
Amanda, thank you so much for sharing the pictures us! So precious!
Blessings

Amanda those babies are to cute!!!
I love Kid quotes I think it is a job hazard as a children’s minister. my favorite is when one of my little friends who was about four at the time announced from the back seat of my car that he wanted to know how he could get in the pool at church(the baptistry)I was green as as gourd as a children minister and thought I can handle this. So I proceeded to tell him there was some steps before the pool. I told him that he had to first ask Jesus to be the boss of his life. He said well of course Jesus is the boss, he had been in church since nine months before he was born so of course he knew this right. Then I asked the question…. Clay do you know what a sinner is? He had this look of victory on his face and said yep… It is the man on the football team that hikes the ball… I knew then maybe he was not quite ready to swim in the pool at church..
Treasure those babies words it may make for a great book one day.
Have an awesome Day!!
Carrie
Little kid quotes are the best-no apologies needed! Annabeth is so beautiful! I love the robe shots especially! Jackson is growing up quickly. Thanks for sharing
Oh my stars ~~ she is the sweetest lil thing in a pink towel =)
Have a Blessed Tuesday,
Dawn
Amanda,
You have such a beautiful family! Your kids are absolutely precious!! I agree with so many others…you shouldn’t apologize for your quote. It was too sweet. Most of us have been there and things our kids have said are just too cute not to share! ๐
I love those photos! I love Annabeth’s big, huge, blue eyes! I was wondering if she was going to have eyes like Action Jackson! Her smile is contagious!!
Now if Melissa would share her mascara secret with me, all would be right in the world. That girl has some serious eyelashes.
All of you gals are “Moore Beautiful”!! Inside and Out!!
God’s blessings to each of you!!
Roxanne
I love the Oops picture, as any grandma would!!!
Where were Lightning and Mater?? I assume somewhere at Hollywood Studios? We were there last year and didn’t see them – are they new, or did we just miss ’em?
I LOVE Disney and can’t wait to go again! Oh yeah, the kids like it, too.
You make me laugh!!!!!!!!!!
I have no lofty thoughts either. My kids are older. Whats my excuse now?? I can speak Spongebob now. Ha!
Last picture made me laugh out loud.
Hugs,
Fran
Oh my goodness Amanda! I can not believe how much you, your mom and Melissa look alike-especially with your hair pulled back. All three of you have the same smile. That is a good thing. You all are beautiful.
No worries on the mama mushbrain syndrome. I’ve got that, too. Mine is from a 21 year old, 19 year old, 12 year old, 3 year old and 1 1/2 year old living under my roof. The youngest two being my grandkids. Anyone that has kids knows exactly what it is like-espcially when you are going going going…I can totally relate. If you can, try to have a little mommy alone time. It really can do amazing things for you.
Thanks for the Disney pics. I was beginning to wonder about them. The pics are awesome as always.I was especially touched by Annabeth’s dedication pics. How neat to have what seems like the whole church there to help you raise Jackson and Annabeth to Love Jesus and to love God’s people.
Jackson looked like he was having a total blast out there on the water. I’ll bet he was totally exhausted by the time you all got home. How fun though!
That precious little girl of yours is something. She is as cute as cute can be. Then again, she is at the age where she is really starting to become curious about everything around her and is probably finding her voice. Yet, she is still cute and cuddly.
What a cutie! Remember to take care of yourself while giving to your family.

Love the pictures of Annabeth in the hooded bath robe!
Amanda,
Mama mush brain? No. Being real? Yes. Now THAT is ministering to others. do you know how many women are in your shoes out there and needed to know that its NORMAL to not have it all together?
And I love the photos. We pick up more about your life from those than any amount of writing. Thanks for encouraging all of us.

Amen to the mush of a mommy brain…and somewhere I read it’s been scinetifically proven we lose brain cells when we reproduce.
Love all the pics – canNOT believe Annabeth is already 4 months. Time just flies!
Great quote and pics. My favorite kid quote was when I was driving my 4 year old to preschool, out of nowhere he said, “Mom, if my nose didn’t have holes, I wouldn’t pick them.”
