That darling child on stage is my niece, Carleigh. I had the joy of having my younger brother, Tony, his beautiful wife, Cherie, and that precocious five year-old with me in New Orleans. She is the hyper-feminine, female version of my brother when he was that age. Looks just like him!! All I had to do was mouth the words, “You wanna come up here with me?” at the end of the event while we were singing and she jumped on stage like a cricket. Her parents and I will never forget it! Thanks for asking!
Oh my, Beth, God is so wonderful in His timing!!! I wrote you this morning at home… Here is the only place I know to reach you so i was planning on messaging you on this blog, but I was worried that what i had to say would have nothing to do with your top topic today. And though I’m not really looking for you to post this (for this is to you personally), just in case you do share it I was concerned. But as I can see that was for no reason ’cause God is good, not as in holy (He is certainly that) but good as in clever. My letter from this morning:
Oh, Beth, Magnify the Lord with me. Let us exalt His name together.(Psalms 34:3 my M&M verse for March 1st)
Thank you for being my personal flight attendant out of my pit. (I couldn't ask for better.) That's right I've just today started "Get out of that Pit." Mine feels more like a catacomb. There are levels upon levels of issues God will have to lift me above, and each level has a maze of twist and turns the evil one has formed to keep me in despair. But I now believe Him not just in Him.
I must tell you…I have only got to page #4 of "Get out of that Pit." I must further confess I couldn't even read your gratitude to the Tates, Weirs, and Kendall without tearing up. Those next few pages (between there and page 4), I was a sobbing puddle at my kitchen table. The forward your hubby wrote…(here i go again)…my heart aches for a desire…one God has promised. I know He is able to perform it (Romans 4:21 M&M verse March 15th) but it wasn't until mere seconds before picking up your book that He made me realize that He wouldn't promise me or anyone something if He wasn't also willing to perform it as well.
I know your book will be the tool He uses to lift me out of my cataclysmic pit. Thanks again for your hospitality (aka your faithfulness to our Lord) as my attendant on this awesome God filled, directed, redeemed journey out of my pit.
It’s your discretion if you actually post this or keep it to your self. I will not care either way, i just wanted to tell you.
Beth, thank you for the timely words you spoke in New Orleans. I work for a church who just lost their pastor. 3 other ladies were with me at this conference. The video from pastor’s wives couldn’t be more timely and the teaching in Thes. was exactly what God had planned for us. May He richly bless you for your faithfulness in teaching His truth. We were definitely blessed in hearing it!
Rich did an AWESOME job and it was as amazing as it looked. The coolest thing happened I was an encourager and with of two women that I prayed with I was able to use my siesta scripture memory verses. They were just almost out of my mouth before I knew it, it was AWESOME. God is so good and I am amazed he chooses to use me inspite of myself. JESUS SAVES!!
That is one of my most favorite songs that Travis sings. I mean, was anyone else crying? Maybe it was the way Ms. Beth was holding that precious teenage girls face, or her standing with that adorable older lady, or the song Jesus saves playing and it being the week before Easter? I am so moved by these videos, but this has been my fav. To me some of the most precious words He ever spoke were “It is Finished.” I am so burdened for those who think there is no hope when life gets tough, when they think there is no way out. Jesus is our hope and I am so thankful this Easter for His love and how He demonstrated it.
Loved the video! It was such an awesome time! The Lord definitely spoke to my heart as well as my sister and mother’s. Thanks Beth for inspiring us with your words from the Lord. All three of us have committed to waking up early together and spending time praying together and reading the Word together. It’s been a real blessing to see our joy in our salvation restored, and the lessons from 1 Thessalonians 5:12-23 still ringing in our ears and being carried out through our hearts with the love we have for Him. Thanks again to you, to the praise team and LPM for making LPL New Orleans something we will never forget!
Ohh! The little girl at the end reminded me of being a little one growing up in New Orleans searching for help and hope. And I found HIM as an adult. I looked hard in the faces for friends in my hometown in your video—so moved that God moved! Because your roots go down, grounded so deep, in HIS Love, you pour it out Psalm 50:2 on all of us so needy. I had a biopsy today and await the results. He’s a good God no matter what! Thank you for staying rooted and grounded in HIM for all of us, for HIS Glory!
i was there…..awesome. i came home singing “Lord, you’re holy..” and “we lift our hands in the sanctuary..” and my 5 yr old picked up on them and sings too. it blesses my soul (and God’s too) to hear her praise His name. thank you beth for your passion and thank you Holy Spirit for your presence!
Last week was a great week for because I got to see you, Beth, at both the Life Today taping on Tuesday and then in New orleans. This is my birthday week and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it. You are such a blessing, i am on staff at my church and sometimes it is hard to get to worship and be filled while you are working so this week was extra special for me and filled me up. I am now ready to go and serve again. Thanks!!!
I just read your response from the conference and was so touched. God has given me a heart to pray for young women … and He has impressed on me that you should be at the top of my list. God has such a beautiful purpose for your life!! Keep your commitment to Him, follow Him every day, and He will tenderly lead you and bless you and use you to bless others in ways you could never even dream of!
My beautiful daughter-in-law made that same commitment at a young age (after she saw her brothers and sister with broken hearts)and God led her to my son! When they kissed at the altar, that was her first kiss! What a gift she is to our family! She is everything I prayed for … and more.
To Cassidy who posted: Stay in the word, stay focused on God and His love. Stay PURE! Boys and men can wait. So many of us here wish we had waited, but God redeemed us anyway, we would all admit life would have gone better if we had heard this preaching when we were young. Hold firm to your faith! It will not come back empty. Beth and the Gang, Thanks for that post. Wow! Tears. Kim Feth Apex, NC
Thanks once again Rich for a fantastic job!!! I LOVE seeing all those women and girls worshiping our KING!!!! He rules!! Thanks Beth and team for ALL you do for us Siesta’s….. Whenever I see one of these I can hardly wait to all meet in our temple and worship HIM together!!! Blessings, Bible Bunny in NO MI
New Orleans LPL was such a blessing. I went expecting (hoping?) for an exciting, uplifting, encouraging time, and I did get that. But I got even more: God got in my business!! And I so needed Him to! Thank you, Beth, for challenging us as well as encouraging us!
This was awesome; thank you Rich and Travis for sharing the gifts God gave you with us. I was sitting at work watching today and had to hold back the sobs I was so moved. I CAN’T WAIT for Laramie, Wyoming…20 or so Colorado ladies will be there ready to worship and be in the Word. I am praying for LPM and the Word Beth will bring. Praise you, Jesus!
I was just( March 27- April 4) in New Orleans doing some Hurricane Relief~ if you were there at the same time I will be so Sad…. I have not been to a LPM confernce since Grand rapids several years ago and could have really used the refreshment and refinement! boo hoo! but by the sounds of things you hit the mark again……
I feel like we’ve spent a lot of time together lately. I saw you in Atlanta – even at the restaurant after the conference. Our ladies group just finished the Esther study. I saw you in New Orleans, and you may not know it, but you were at Big Level Baptist Church in Wiggins, MS this past weekend via the “Loving Well” retreat. This was the first retreat (and hopefully not the last) our church has sponsored. There were approximately 100 ladies (and Rob the soundman) who participated, many who have never gone to a conference or retreat and many who normally cannot afford to go. Thank you for this retreat in a box. I look forward to seeing you in Memphis.
Isn't "siesta" the Spanish word for nap? Yes! Then why are our LPM blog readers called siestas? One time Beth typed out the word "sistas," referring to our blog readers, and her spell checker wanted her to change it to "siestas." The name stuck! You can read about it here. If you read this blog, consider yourself a siesta! It's just another word for sister.

I sure love y’all.
I was at the LPL San Diego, it was my 1st one (hopefully not my last!). I loved it. I’m so happy for this latest group!

It fits the week; it fits my heart for always.
Peace to you, LPM staff, as we make our pilgrimage to the cross to behold our Peace.
