These are not the best pictures, but I thought I’d share some from our church’s annual Fall Festival. Jackson wore a Batman costume and HE LOVED HIMSELF. He really had no idea what he was, but he was completely energized by his built-in muscles, cape, and mask.
Batman flexing his bat muscles.
One of the highlights of Batman’s night was a baby pool filled with balls. He worked himself into a frenzy. Look at his red face.
As I ironed my son’s costume that evening, I realized I should have dressed as Alfred. But that would have been quite a stretch for Pregnant Girl.
Upon seeing the two firetrucks, one with a giant ladder reaching into the sky, I asked Jackson if this was the happiest day of his life. He said yes.
My, how things change! Look at my child’s face. Sheer terror. Someone blasted the other fire truck’s horn when we were standing right by it. It was L-O-U-D.
Don’t tell Jackson that the Batmobile isn’t an inflatable red car.
Batman’s smooth exit from the Batmobile.
Here are some pics from Fall Festivals Past, AKA “the years when mommy got to dress Jackson however she wanted.” We are currently in the superhero-for-boys/Disney- princess-for-girls years of toddlerhood.
The first year Jackson was a frog.
Last year Jackson was a golfer. I could have eaten him up with a spoon.
Next year I’ll have another little one to dress!

So much fun. He is entirely too cute. When I was looking up info about HFBC I saw that their fall fest was coming up.
Our church in Southlake was instructed by the city not to have another such event on their premises. Apparently there was definitely not enough parking to accomodate the crowd. Seriously more than 3000 children showed up and the traffic jam was so bad they moved the entire event to the local HS football stadium where much ado about fall happens! How gloriously fun is that?
Blessings.
He looks adorable!! For several years when my boys were young, they dressed up as firemen. Now they are 7 and 9 and still love a fire truck!!
Can’t wait to see the LPM staff picture you took today! Sorry for scaring you in the bathroom…..guess I was in too much of a rush and forgot to lock the door!
Jackson is so cute as Batman. You can tell he had a blast and it is going to be so much fun dressing up your daughter. ๐
Love,
Patty
Too cute! I would scream too if the siren sounded next to me!
Thanks for sharing
Wait– you ironed a Halloween costume? Girlfriend you have issues! LOL. Not the biggest fan of ironing here. Adorable pics!
Leslie
How fun! You have one cute little boy there!
Of course your little man is adorable but I would like to give a shout out to that killer red necklace you are wearing. There have to be some super powers in that thing..:)
You “ironed” his costume? Nuff said.
Yes, I ironed it! You would have too. It had been crumpled up in a box for several weeks. Also, Lisa, thanks for liking my necklace. It is actually hot pink and I got it at Target over the summer. Yay for Target.
ADORABLE! What a lovely family. Looks like y’all had a great time!
He is SO precious! My oldest (who is now driving… EEK) was Batman one year but refused to put away the cape after Halloween was over and for months he wore it everywhere we went!
Blessings
Michelle
He is the cutest little thing. He just looks like he is ready to take on the world! Don’t you know he’ll be looking out for that little sister of his!!!
I have to say..the golf outfit from last year is my favorite little boy costume of all time.
Such a cutie!! I’m always a pushover for big muscles. Now….we need a picture of that baby belly of yours.
Rachel
Jackson is the cutest Batman ever…and I love the pics of his costumes from past years.
I enjoyed dressing my little guy as a pony this year (he’s the same age Jackson was when he was a frog) because I know cutesy costumes won’t be possible in a couple of years. (:
Oh my gosh! He’s is just the sweetest little man! You have a very beautiful son (he’s young so beautiful is still acceptable). ๐ I’m sure your sweet little princess siesta is going to be equally sweet and easy to love!
He is adorable! I’m glad ya’ll had a good time, minus the loud scary noise from the firetruck!
You look beautiful Amanda. When I was pregnant (all four times) I was bloated and evil looking. The golfer was my favorite! I miss dressing mine up too! Love you all,
Judy
That Batman is something else, but my favorite is the golfer – loved it last year, loved seeing it again this year!
I laughed out loud at you ironing his costume; not because you did it, but because I would and have done the same thing!
Big ol’ hug to you this day,
Melinda
I love the costumes with muscles… My boys have been about every superhero possible ๐ Jackson looked so cute as that frog. My has he grown ๐
Blessings
Thanks for sharing those adorable pics! It looks like you all had so much fun. My boys are still young enough for me to dress them up like little cutesy animals. Next year, they’ll probably be too “old” for that, so we’ll be in super hero territory too. And for the record, I iron everything under the sun too! I mean, Batman is distinguished enough to have a perfectly pressed suit, right?! ๐
Iron?! Glad you cleared up the wrinkle thing! He is precious and Dad looks just as a proud papa should.
How fun to dress up. Enjoy this time it flies by fast. My boys are all past the dress up phase except to cause a real scare and make their mom jump…hahaha I still put out the pictures from each year…Batman, Robin, pumpkin, Dalmation, Ninja, Star Wars R2D2, & Barney the Purple Dinosaur…what fun!
The REAL issue with toddlers and costumes is whether they will take them off at the end of the day!
We’ve all seen “Super Someone” at the grocery store when it was pretty obvious that the outfit had been on for days…
Sometimes I have to remind myself that mommy (or Alfred ; ) really does know best!
super cute! Glad he *understood* this year and really enjoyed himself. Just wait for CHRISTMAS!! =)
Amanda, I’m with you on the golf outfit being a favorite. Just gotta warn ya tho: someday when his wife is a “golf widow”, she’ll have you guys to thank. LOL
Oh, wow. He is so darn cute– this year and years past! I’m so glad he go to have so much fun ๐
I never did like loud noises as a kid. Still don’t! I did, however, love big trucks. And still do! ๐
I just love the golfer costume. He looks so cute as Batman though. What fun your house must be.
PS: I can’t even wait to see the new one in her outfits, and you know bibby will be in on that.
rich! wonderfully, gloriously rich!
thank God for His abundant grace to give us precious “moments” with our loved ones!
good job on the captions as well, amanda. they are so cute! almost as cute as Jackson, but of course not quite.
We dressed as the superfriends one year – me wonderwoman, my hubby superman and son Batman. He was Batman the following year and finally this year I had to put an ax in the Batman costume just because I was tired of seeing it!
adorable pictures – best of luck during your pregnancy!!
I had me a little batman too. ๐
Thanks for the pictures Amanda. Hope you are feeling well.
Hugs,
Fran
sooo cute!
Awww, precious pictures of all of you!
Those eyes are mesmerizing!
What a cute family you make….can’t wait for the little girl to come along! I’m sure she will be just as cute.
You will have to watch the little boys and girls…I’m sure they will be attracted to the Jones family!
Janet
Too cute!!
So cute! What beautiful blue eyes! And what a beautiful family.
My son dressed up many years ago as Batman, too, and he refused to get rid of the cape. Still have it and he’s 20! There’s just something about Batman and little boys (and big boys).
Of course, he doesn’t actually wear the cape.
He would be totally mortified if he knew I was telling you this…..
Sorry Joshua!
They are all soooo cute!
Sooo precious!!! I love seeing little kiddos dressed up!!! They just have soo much fun!! And I have to agree with everyone else…that Golf outfit is one of the cutest things I have ever seen! I can’t wait for next year for your family…having a new little one to dress up and play with! I had a friend of mine dress her little boy and girl up as Dorothy and a Munchkin!! They were too precious!
Hope you are feeling okay these days. You look great in the pictures!
Thanks again for sharing the pics!
Nikki
That golfer is the cutest ever!!!!
Precious! My little guys were superheros at that age, too. It’s a guy thing…and I love to see how it continues throughout the generations. Boys will be boys!!! Thank you for sharing and reminding me of how much fun it was to be a mom.
How cute your son is. Looks like you all had a good time. thanks for sharing the pics with us. Kim B. in Az
Thanks for the golfer picture, Amanda! Trick-or-treaters came to rehab where I am doing my clinical rotation and I could not do justice to explaining to my folks the cuteness of the little golfer who came there, so now I can just show them Jackson’s picture!
How precious. Thanks for sharing!
Cute pictures, a well-needed break from all the election hoo-ha! He was really adorable, the testosterone was practically oozing out of the pictures! By the way, did you get your hair cut, or was it just the picture? You looked adorable also!
How do you get him to wear anything on his head? My grandson is 3 months younger than Jackson and wants nothing on his head but his hair.
Jackson is adorable. Grandsons are so much fun. Sons are, too. I had 2 of those.
He’s so cute! Thanks for sharing.
Have a wonderful week…
Oh, yeah! And girls are so much fun. Personally I like simple. My ten-year-old boy was his favorite Nascar driver, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Had the whole suit and cap (no helmet). Angela, my 8-year old, was a cheerleader, and, of course, my 6-year-old, Chloe, was Cinderella. She told me she wanted to be a princess and I told her, “But you’re supposed to dress up.” Of course, I told my 8-year-old the same thing when she told me she wanted to be a witch. (She’s been kind of bratty lately.) And obviously I wouldn’t let her be a witch. She forgot about it when she saw the cheerleading suit. Anyway, Jackson made a perfect batman. I’m glad my son is past superheroes, though. It’s kind of nice to do something else.
Dude, I remember this picture of him last halloween like it was YESTERDAY! Where does time go? ha ha ha….
Thank you Amanda for sharing the pictures!! They are darlin!!
Thank you also for opening yourself up to all of us. We so feel like we know all of you, and of course we don’t….but don’t spoil our illusion.
Blessings to all of you…..

P.S. How about a pic of the pregnant Mom????
ok. You ironed his costume? That IS JUST WRONG. You need another child just to stop the insanity. LOL… love ya
Amanda,
Your Jackson is heaven sent … a joy to all our hearts. My 2nd son was Superman in pre-school and he really thought he was. He loved the cape I had made and attached to his shirt. He would run and swirl it around in the parking lot of the Fall Festival at our church in Fairfax, Virginia. He is now a freshman in college and we live in Atlanta, but I used that picture as one of his baby pictures for his senior memory page in the yearbook. Sweet and priceless memories!! Thanks for sharing the joy of Jackson! Take care to rest plenty during your pregnancy. Love from your sister in Christ!!
OK, too precious. I handed out HUNDREDS of bags of candy to our community’s children at our Fall Family Fun Fest.
Gotta tell you….cutest thing was a tiny baby dressed as a lobster in a really big pot! Daddy carried her around in the pot all night.
Jackson IS a super hero!
