Here are some of the pictures from Angola that Janice shared with me last week. There were so many to choose from! I know you will be blessed by seeing the beautiful faces of the children that LIFE Outreach International has the privilege of serving through their Mission Feeding program. We have already talked a lot about this, but I wanted you to have the chance to see these pictures.
Some of the images are difficult to look at, such as the ones from the clinics. You’ll see very skinny infants who are actually toddlers. Malnourishment horribly stunts the children’s physical and mental growth. Janice explained to me that babies do okay until they are weaned. After that, it is very easy for them to go downhill quickly. It might take a while for an adult to die from malnutrition, but it can happen very quickly for a child. A bout with dysentery after being exposed to micro-organisms in their food or water can be very hard to recover from.
The good news is that something is being done to help some of these malnourished children. Lives are being saved. A difference is being made. Thank you, Lord.
Hi Amanda, I don’t know if you will received this but I thought I would give it a try.
I am a painter (along with all my other rolls as wife, mother, computer programmer and child of the King) and back in 2007 when you posted these pictures from Angola I downloaded some of the images. Between then and now I have painted some of them. I have often talked with God about my artistic talent and wondered how I could use it for His glory. I still don’t have a good answer to that, but I know that one day it will come.
Anyhow, my reason for writing is that I wanted to know who it was that took these photos and wanted to get her permission to paint them. So far no one has seen my paintings but my family, but I wanted to enter a couple into an art show and did not want to do that with permission from the photographer. I am not trying to make money from the paintings, and they are not for sale. I would also be interested in exploring if there is some way that these paintings could be used by the ministry itself if they had any interest.
I am sorry for bothering you, but did not know of any other way to find out who owned these photos to get their permission. I would show you images of my paintings (large watercolors) but I don’t know how to add them to this comment. If the photographer wants to see them for any reason I can email images.
Thank you,
Linda Willkomm
