It’s Time for Passion 2014!

SOLD OUT!

Those were the words I saw in all CAPS under the Passion 2014 logo as I was scrolling through my Instagram feed last night! Passion in Houston is about to go down and not one ticket is left. Let’s give the Lord some praise, my friends! That means that in less than 24 hours the Toyota Center will be maxed out with thousands of 18 – 25 year olds hearing and proclaiming the name of Jesus. This is so very good!

This year, like every other Passion conference, our very own Beth will take the platform as one of the main speakers, so as you can imagine, she’s full on in preparation for this weekend! We’ve been studying about the Holy Spirit together on Tuesday nights and as a staff we’re asking God to move among His people in Houston! That there would be an outpouring like never before. I’ve heard Beth say time and time again that Jesus just flat likes Passion, and I can’t argue with that. So, will you join us in praying for the Lord to raise up a generation that will be sent out to spread the truth of God’s word in power? Not all the time, but sometimes these things take an army of prayer warriors.

Even if you were at Passion in Atlanta and saw what God could do, let’s set aside our expectations or our previous experiences and ask the Lord to do something brand new, fresh, captivating!

Much like previous years, I get to take a group of girls along with two of my coworkers, Jenn and Sherry to the conference. I am pumped to say the least! Most of our group of first time attendees and I know they’re in for a treat. And a treat really sounds so petty.

Anybody out there heading this way? Anybody out there happen to attend Passion in Atlanta this year and are excited to see God at work in both cities?  (And I mean this for both those attending and those coming as a doorholder, what they refer to as their volunteers.) Tell us where you’re coming from and one thing you are looking forward to! It would be a blast to run into some familiar faces.

In other exciting news, I heard a rumor they were live streaming the conference. So if you want to join in and experience Passion from the other side of your computer screen, you can do so from here starting at 7:30 Friday night (CST).

In honor of Throwback Thursday, I feel it is only necessary to post a picture from Passion last year.

“Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.” Isaiah 26:8

You know, time for some honesty. Had I gone to such a conference at that age, my intent would’ve been to check out the guys. Praying the ones you take w you, Lindsee, keep focused upward.

    Hey Lindsee
The Brillance has a great song, “Breathe”, that could be the theme song for the Tuesday evening studies on the Holy Spirit. Not sure what this has to do with this post on Passion weekend, but anyway 🙂
Actually they may be at Passion, as well as at our Saturday evening service at Ecclesia church.

I will be praying without ceasing this weekend! Shine Jesus shine!I am sure going to try to tune in online. I can use all the good words I can get right now. I am headed for major surgery on Monday and wondered if I could request some siesta prayer? I am so glad God is faithful and will be keeping a close eye as the surgeon makes every cut. I wouldn’t mind going to sleep on the OR table and waking up to the beauty of Heaven, but if He has more for me to do I would sure like to finish. Thy will be done. Blessings to you…
Much love to Siesta Mama, all the siesta’s, all the lovely ladies at LPM! Mary G.

    Linda Duquette says:

    Dear Beth,
Congratulations re: Houston. I know the Lord will work miracles. I sooo love listening to you speak. You are so dynamic and down to earth at the same time. I am the woman who lost her son to suicide and wrote to you once before. I’m sorry to be a pain, but I need employment badly. I am a nurse and due to technology, they really want everyone to be experienced in electronic records. I will be taking a course on this in a couple weeks. Please pray that God would provide me with the job I am familiar with. I am in the word and pray as much as I can. I wish I was one of those girls going to Houston with you. I’m sorry to bother you, but I wrote for prayer requests on the contact line and didn’t get a response. I pray for you as you continue to travel and spread the words of Christ. God Bless You.

    Love in Christ,
    Linda

      Deborah says:

Dear Linda, as a fellow blogger on this site but esp as a sister In CHRIST, my heart felt caring is extended to you in your loss! My friend who shares a similar loss…son to suicide, yet many years ago, has mentored me for years and is one of the great gifts God gave me to teach me to trust Him even in the most horrific situations. She is a nurse too. Now recently a widow. She has one of the most consistent walks with the LORD of any older lady I know. I have been very blessed to meet with her and to be able to be real with my life with her. Her loss has enabled her to understand some of my losses like no other person in my life. She gets it. I just want to encourage you somehow to keep going and keep believing THE LORD has you and loves you and can do miracles in and through you to help someone else and do great things we will see clearly and be amazed when we get to heaven!!!! CHRIST’s riches blessings to you, I pray you will know JESUS and HIS LOVE to comfort you and His leading be real to you and as you follow Him be placed in just the right job at just the right time. He loves you… IN CHRIST BY HIS GRACE, Deb

    Rose Garriga says:

The very first time I heard of “Beth Moore” was at a women’s fellowship luncheon from my church, Trinity Christian Center, NJ, where we viewed Beth’s teaching and it was on Isaiah 26! Well it was such a blessing to all of us, especially for me, because although I grew up in church and went to Bible seminary and even taught classes there and taught Sunday School for nearly 20 years, I had never heard teaching like that! Now, I’ve completed about about 8 of her studies and I’m currently reading “Jesus, the One and Only” and I keep reading it because I feel like I’m walking or sitting right next to Him. I totally get transported to what ever verse she’s teaching on!

I’m heading to Passion with a group from my church in Fort Worth! I’m SO looking forward to hearing Beth speak and spending quality time with my fellow leadership friends!

    Libby says:

I was a doorholder in Atlanta and got to go at the last minute because they needed more volunteers – such a beautiful God thing; was in Atlanta last year and so wanted to be able to back this year – and God made that happen. I’m praying that God will move in an even mightier way than He did in Atlanta this year and last year – be safe in your travels and get ready for a wild ride – very little sleep and lots of activity, but God will give you the strength to do whatever it is He’s called you there to do. Praying for a sweeping revival among all attending, and for many new brothers and sisters to be added to the family. God bless you all!

I will be there too coming from Austin, and would love to run into you lovely ladies!! I too get the pleasure of taking a sweet 21 year old that I’m praying God would open her heart to His abundant love for her! This is my third Passion (the first was one of the original ones
in Austin years ago), and it truly is one of the most amazing events to bring glory to God that I’ve ever experienced!!!

And then also getting to see Beth and hug her!!! It was a trip of a life time! I was excited this year because it’s on my birthday in a city I want to visit but God has other plans that don’t include me attending!!! However I am praying for you all!!! Enjoy!!! Xoxo

    Maggie says:

I have a deep hurting in my heart for the generation coming up. I feel as if I want to scream,,,You are being lied to don’t believe it!!

I have to say my generation built upon the foundation that is not the rock and it has crumbled – me myself and I.

I have read so many passages that say…and the Lord raised up a generation…or he did not follow the path of his father and removed the idols from the land…these ring hope in my hearts and also words that say all that you do is naught if I am not in it.

God may leave us to follow the desires of our hearts, but the desires of our heart if they are the desires of this world will lead us to the paths of destruction and destruction is another way of saying you are going to have to start afresh by tearing down, clearing out and to rebuilding.

I have a daughter and 3 that permeates these United
States that a good education, sexual equality and freedom and a positive attitude are all that they need to succeed.

To mislead (a politically correct way of saying – Lie to) is something (read Genesis) that God does not look the other way to regardless of the other persons participation.

God does hold us accountable for how we lead, mislead and cause our brother and sisters to stumble.

I join the prayer warriors who pray for God to raise us a generation that is strong and courageous and fully devoted followers of Christ.

May your Spirit rain down on the arid souls!!!We are ready Lord!!!

I am taking “A Woman’s Heart” through Grace Community Church in Great Bend, KS. The facilitator has been Elaine Mull who died in a plane crash in Nashville along with her husband, daughter and granddaughter on 2/6. The pain for the community and church is huge. I thought you would like to know. We are restarting this Thursday with those who have stepped forward to fill her shoes.

I was so blessed to be in Houston this year! So blessed by Mrs Beth and how The Lord works through her! Just beautiful. Quick question, did anyone get the 20 Declarations she made at the end of her session written down? Those are 20 beautiful truths I would love to have on paper to go over on a regular basis. Also, wow what a moment that was!

    Thanks!
