Bible Study, Anyone?

Good Thursday morning, ladies!

We pray all is well with you and yours this day.

Originally, we had the thought to post this on Monday, but then the big Winter Storm of 2014 blew in and kind of threw our system off kilter. We ended up posting information about Bible study instead, and the next day we hunkered down at our respective homes while the ice and snow barely reached the ground on Tuesday. Needless to say, things unexpected and unplanned for ended up swirling and here we are and it’s Thursday and I was not going to let this post go to waste.

If she comes to mind, you wouldn’t waste a prayer on Beth, or any of her family or LPM as she is preparing simultaneously for multiple teaching opportunities. Ones that have been on the calendar for well over a year, but the time is now so she’s neck deep in preparartion. I know I don’t have to tell you that she is one of the hardest workers I know which in return blesses us. We’re so grateful for your prayers and support. We love y’all so much.

So, onto Bible study! We usually don’t wait until nearly the end of January to hear from you about Bible study, but it’s better late than never, right?

Inquiring minds want to know, what Bible study are you digging into this semester? As we’ve mentioned here a few times, we just launched our Tuesday night Bible study titled: Breath: The Life of God in Us, but we want to know what you are up to?

How about we do this, tell us your name, your city and your Bible study of choice and if you’re going at it solo or with a group or leading or attending. There are countless studies out there today, so do not feel one ounce of pressure (and please do not hear us saying) that we only want to know if you’re doing a “Beth Moore” Bible study. It is our joy to hear all the different authors you are studying under!

We even want to hear from you if what you’re committed to this semester, or this year, is reading through the Bible in one year. That’s big, B I G, and we want to cheer you on and walk alongside you. Sometimes we’re not committed to something until we speak it out loud or write it down for someone else to see. A little accountability never hurt anyone!

To make it fun, I’ll go ahead and post my answer in the comments! I miss doing that!

This is short and sweet but we’ll look forward to hearing from you!

I am facilitating a group of 18 ladies and we are doing Lisa Harper’s study of Hebrews. I am following a plan to read the New Testament through in a year and am trying to memorize the book of I John with my daughter, who’s on mission in England this year. She challenged me, so we’re doing it together and I need prayer for that! haha! The Lord helped me to memorize the book of James last year (at Beth’s prompting!), so I’m trusting Him to help me with I John, too!

I’m in Assumers Annonymous! Thanks for that. I’ve been working on it. I should be the last to assume anything but I still do.

Great Blog. Like your thoughts. I wake like that ALL THE TIME. Thoughts and thoughts just rolling over each other and I couldn’t get them out fast enough to get them all out if I tried. I got a voice recorder to help with this. Haven’t used it much cause it makes me feel odd but its a great way to get tumbling thoughts out so that they can be recaptured and written. But then I’ve also prayed and the Lord has given me back forgotten thoughts for writing. 🙂

I’m doing what I’m told to do! The friend that disciples me, (one on one), has me doing the CBS version of the Daniel. The girl I disciple is “making” me do Beth’s Fruit of The Spirit study. What’s so funny/embarrassing, is that as i go through the workbook, some pages have notes and others don’t and all of the video wrap ups are familiar. And when i look up a verse in my Bible, i have notes written in my Bible from the study! So, apparently, i have started the Fruit study at least once, maybe more, and never completed it! i’m thinking God REALLY wants me to “get” this, cuz here i go again- and it was not of my own choosing! But it’s a whole different ball game when I’m in charge and have to be prepared, vs being a participant! Oh the accountability! So i WILL stay steadfast and diligent and get thru “the Fruit”! and am eating it up! (no pun intended!). And I’m going to the Houston conference Feb 21, 22- “Unwrapping the Bible”- can’t wait! I’m in Tuscaloosa, Alabama
Ou church had our yearly women’s retreat last weekend, and the speaker was Rochelle Frazier. I would encourage any and everyone to check out her blog. A lot of what she spoke on is on there. She has a great story of redemption and restoration, and is a great story teller and speaker. Scripture rolls off her tongue. check her out!
