Passion 2013! The 2000 Women Campaign

Hey, Everybody! I am thrilled to have the God-given opportunity to write this post and all credit goes to Christ alone. May He be outrageously loved and lifted high.

Many of you are familiar with the Passion Conferences that God has used wildly among 18-25 year-olds for well over a decade. (If you’re not, see 268generation.com to learn all about it. You’ll love it.) God placed the vision in the faithful hands of Louie and Shelley Giglio and they have continued a long obedience in the same direction to see God’s name and renown become the desire of many hearts in the rising generations. God has shown outlandish favor on these events and He alone knows exactly why but this is the feeling that I get every time I observe a Passion gathering: He likes it. He likes coming to it. He likes brooding over it. He likes filling it. His glory is jealously guarded and His fame is generously spread. God also has the open invitation to reach into lives at one of the most strategic seasons of all. At what age are people more inclined to make completely life-altering plans and decisions?

Imagine what would happen if God completely captivated thousands of lives in that 18-25 year range and ruined them for anything less than the well-determined plan He had in mind when He created them. What if nothing less than the flagrant fame of Jesus Christ became their life ambition? That’s exactly what has happened thousands of times over at Passion Conferences through the years. At these events, the wholly surrendered life in Christ is captured for what it really is: the most exhilarating adventure available for human flesh and blood. It is the offer to live for something so much greater. It is the offer for a life that matters here long after we’ve vacated this planet.

Last year at Passion 2012, Louie announced that God was giving us the green light to head back to the  Georgia Dome in Atlanta for Passion 2013 but, this time, without restrictions on the number of seats we could occupy. Come this January 1st through 4th, we have access to that entire enormous house. Picture what that means! We can open the doors to tens of thousands more. We were ecstatic. And here at Living Proof Ministries we want to be used by God to help fill that place up with young people so they can witness God filling it up with His glory.  The driving goal of our existence is to encourage women of all ages to come to know and love Jesus Christ through the study of His Word. Because we know for a fact that everything about Passion lines up with everything we’re passionate about here at LPM, we want to see 2000 eligible women get to go to Passion 2013 by scholarship. This is the heart of “The 2000 Women Campaign.”

2000 women who have never been before.

2000 women who could not otherwise go.

Here’s how the eligibility works for these 2000 scholarships. Each applicant must meet the following requirements (and, so sorry, but no exceptions!):

*A woman between the ages of 18 and 25. (Soon you’ll see that we are going to issue a challenge to other ministries, churches, and organizations and hopefully many of them will also scholarship young men. For us here, these scholarships for women are our way of mentoring and mothering, so to speak, as we seek to be intentional in investing in the next generation according to Scripture.)

*You have never attended a Passion gathering like this one before. (This does not include concerts or regional gatherings. I’m just talking about an actual Passion event that has taken place at the beginning of the new year on this prerequisite.)

*You would be unable to attend without a scholarship. In other words, if you or your parents can come up with the money – even if sacrificially – let’s please retain these 2000 scholarships for others who cannot. There are so many of these.

*You would be responsible for additional expenses. Such as travel, lodging and meals and getting time off work, etc. In other words, you can make it to the Dome on January 1-4 if you can get a scholarship.

IS THAT YOU??? THEN, GIRLFRIEND, GO FOR IT!!!!!

Here is the link to our LPM website for scholarship registration. Watch for the slider. It’s the first one but if you miss it, it will come right back around. All applicants need to go through this link for Passion 2013 scholarships. It is a separate feature that we’ve created in partnership with the Passion staff.

Applicants will receive an email confirmation directly from Passion, letting you know that they have received the scholarship application and that it is being processed. Within a matter of days, you will receive another email informing you whether or not the scholarship was available and accepted. If the criteria as listed in this post is met, the only reason for a decline will be numbers exceeding 2000.

We can’t wait to see what God will do with this and, Sisters, we will be right there at Passion 2013 to witness it. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

Please know, young women, that your big sisters love you, cheer you on, and believe in Christ’s work in you.

This next portion is for how all of you regular LPM bloggers can participate!

These next couple of months will be the time frame for the conference to climb on the radar of many young lives. LPM is launching this 2000 Women campaign in your honor and we would love to do it with your participation through prayer. It is my great hope that you would take ownership over the campaign, too, and get completely involved. What could be more fitting than for a women’s ministry to sponsor young women to attend something that has the very real potential to change the course of their lives and the rhythm of their hearts?

If this is resonating with you, here’s how you can get involved:

*Help get the word out to young women who meet the exact criteria for the LPM scholarships to Passion 2013. Please think about those who could not attend otherwise.

*Start praying for the event right away. These are tomorrow’s leaders and they will powerfully impact our lives as well as those who come up behind them. Also be watching for an opportunity to “adopt” one of our scholarship recipients to pray for throughout the event. We will give you an official way to sign up as an intercessor for a specific recipient after our scholarships are largely filled and we’ll also suggest some ways to direct your prayers. Look for these sign-ups to pop up here on the LPM blog in November but I will keep you very up to date on the progress of our 2000 Women campaign as we go.

And that’s all there is to it!

You’re such a gracious people that I already know up front that some of you will ask if you can give financially toward this fund. We have already joyfully made the financial commitment at LPM and we are not asking for any donations. Since we’re deeply committed to these 2000 scholarships, if you do have extra dollars in your pocket in these hard financial times, we’d more readily suggest that you go out there and find someone – male or female – of that age group who wants to go to Passion 2013 but can’t afford it. Send them! And, remember that many could use the extra help for travel and lodging. Our 2000 Women campaign is limited to ticket scholarships and not for further expenses, as much as I wish we could do the whole megillah.

You game?? Wooohoooo! ME, TOO!!!!!

I’m honored to do ministry with you, Sisters. Isn’t this a blast?

I love you dearly. BRING THEM, LORD! To Your great glory and honor, call Your daughters.

From what we understand, you should receive a confirmation email within a few hours that your application has been received by Passion. If you do not receive email confirmation within 24hours of submission, resubmit your scholarship application. If you continue to have issues, please contact Passion directly at 268generation.com.

I’m having the exact same problem. I followed the link on this page but it wants my payment information. Are there no more scholarships available? and if so how do we access them?

Rebecca, I am so sorry there are no more available! Praying God provides a way for you to go!

    Oh Ms. Beth!
It was joy to be with you this weekend in Reading! It was awesome!
You’re one of my earthly heroes and this is just one more reason why….
Thank you that you are the real deal! Thank you that there are no pretenses about you! Thank you that some of my precious college girls will get to experience Passion 2013 because of your generosity! Mostly, thank you, JESUS, for saving Beth and planning this good work for her to do before the foundation of the world (Eph 2:10)! We give you glory, Lord, for what you’re going to do in 2000 lives!

This is a blast and I am game! And I’m crying too – as a mother of one daughter in this category and one that will be 18 in November, I’m so happy, I’m crying. I think of how you talked about generations at Deeper Still in June 2011. But what blesses me so, is that you live it. Thank you for being Jesus with skin on to my Timothy generation.

    I love you too.

You are doing that part again, right? RIGHT?!?!?

I have to write you all and tell you that two of my daughters went on the scholarship last year and it absolutely CHANGED both of them. They are still propelled by it. Both are saving their money to go again. Both were flabbergasted at the opportunity to go last year, as it was a near impossibility for us to send either one of them.

As a mom I cannot express enough my deepest appreciation to Living proof for giving my sweet girls such a lavish taste of God. This was not an emotional experience for them, it was a life changing encounter with THE LIVING GOD!!!! Thank you all and the LORD bless you for doing this again.

Thank you, Beth, for ministering to our younger women, their families and their communities by providing these scholarships. It is a blessing for us to be a part of it!

Awesome! Praying towards this with you all! As someone “working” in the Middle East, I would ask that you pray for a revival as well among this age group in this part of the world (we even have Baptist churches!). They need a fire lit under them as well!

Just wondering if you knew a rough estimate of what it costs for food, lodging, fight cost for these students, and if there IS a way to help pay their expenses? Not sure I can, but it sure is a way those praying could help a little toward the one they are praying for? Just a thought on my heart. Thanks and May each of us bless God as we pray for this event and all involved in it!

      Lindsee says:

Hey Gail! I’m hoping someone who’s paid for these things will pipe in and let you know, since I’m not totally sure. Blessings to you!

    • 19.2

      Gail,
I’ve volunteered at Passion for the past 3 years and am planning to go again in 2013! It is in downtown Atlanta (the conference is in the Georgia Dome) so it is certainly more expensive, simply because of big city pricing. The students are provided lunch every day, but they are responsible for breakfast and dinner.
This is where creativity pays off–my suggestions:
      1. Book a hotel with free breakfast!
      2. Shop at a grocery store to get meals, not restaurants.
      3. Use Priceline.com to get a hotel and bid for the cheapest rate. There is no specific hotel so they can go anywhere and priceline allows for the cheapest rate. Last year, I paid $35/night!
      4. Use Public transportation. Since it’s downtown ATL, access is wide and vast. Doing this (even if you have a vehicle in ATL) will save on parking costs. Leave the car at the hotel!
      5. Pray that God provides all their needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus! 🙂

  20. 20
    Penny says:

Last year we encouraged 7 girls we knew to sign up and get this scholarship & in return we would cover all transportation/lodging/meals. We then asked several friends to PRAY for these unbelieving college girls to attend, hear The Word, and also consider helping us pay for the extras. Here’s my thoughts: it was TOTALLY WORTH IT!
We loaned them our SUV, booked & paid for their rooms, & prayed for God to speak to their hearts.
I believe that each girl was deeply moved and though they didn’t all profess faith, we know that for 2 of them this was the first exposure to Gods Word ever. I pray every day for them, & hold on to the truth that Gods Word does not return void….
This was the best Christmas gift my man & I could ever give each other, and totally grew our faith, increased our prayers(!), and strengthened our walk!…
Ladies…consider helping a group of girls go on this trip..it will change their life, & yours!!
Blessings & gratitude to LPM for helping make this happen & stirring our hearts to to take a step of faith to send these gals!!
I challenge each of you ladies to band together and be a part of helping send a group of college girls…it will increase your faith & blow your mind!!
    Blessings!!

    Betty M says:

I think it would be great to set up a fund for additional expenses as well. For us who live so far away from the south (we are cozy with Canada up here)! Traveling that far is cost prohibitive. Airfare alone kills us. Could you ever think of holding an event like this in other areas of the country some years so others like in the north could benefit too? There is the Metrodome in Mpls and other areas too which have football stadiums further north so our northern gals could travel and not have to spend so much to attend. Just a thought. I am feeling the pinch of hard economic times but i will sure be in prayer and will sponser someone in prayer again. Great work you guys!

    Jill Long says:

Was wondering, if I can put my daughter in, she will not do this herself and I really need her to get more passionate about our Lord and Savior. She was saved when she was 12 or 13 and was wanting to do things, but at that time I wasn’t although I was raised in chruch and love my God and I “off” the path at that time, since studying with Beth and others my faith is growing and getting back and better and I want that for my daughther that is 20 and needs more direction with God and her heart. Sorry to go on, but just wanted her to have an chance to go. So let me know if I can sumbit an application on behalf of her. Bless all you do!

I have heard so much about Passion from my 18 year old daughter. She graduated from high school last year, and has moved to the UK to share her passion for Christ, and build His kingdom. She has never attended Passion, but many of her mentors have who won’t miss it for the world. If we can arrange for Em to return to us this holiday season, I would be thrilled for her to have the opportunity to go be filled with the incredible joy, love, and fire for Him that Passion evokes. What an amazing thing for her to take that passion and fire back to the lost youth of the United Kingdom! Thank you for investing in our daughters, granddaughters, and young ladies we touch daily!

    In His JOY!

I am deeply saddened that I am over the required age to qualify! That being said I will be praying for this conference and the young lives that are changed by this! I have had the pleasure of seeing Louie’s “fruitcake and ice cream”.
God has touched that man, giving him the ability to reach that generation!

Praying there is a turn out like no other! That God would rock that place, and do a work in all the young lives!
All the Glory to God Forever!

      Linda,
So glad to hear God blessed you at the simulcast. Check back with Living Proof in a couple of weeks and we will have the final answer for you. Sherrie says:

This is awesome! I will be praying for the 2,000 God has chosen to be receptive to the scholarship and opportunity for such a rich blessing. He put this together and he knows there are 2000 young ladies that will be reached through this blog whom he wants there to pour out his blessings.

I live in Kennesaw which is just North of Atlanta. I would be glad to offer my apartment to a couple of girls who would need a place to stay for free. I would either take them to the dome or to the Marta with instructions of how to get from where I leave them to the dome.

I have no idea how I would find these young ladies. I don’t have much space. When I ran the Baptist Center in Detroit hundreds of teenagers and young adults came ever summer to minister to the people. They were willing to rough it. I mean rough it. Sometimes a group would have about70 kids and the Baptist Center had 2 showers. I can only house 3 because my car only has 3 seat belts.

I can do breakfast and home made snacks. If you find any young ladies that want to go and housing makes it cost prohibitive please let me know and they are welcome to stay here.

    Praying for God’s chosen girls!

God is really amazing. Yesterday I came in touch with this Campaign and asked the Lord that if he wanted me to go, he would provide for me, since I don’t have money for everything. I just sent the email for the scholarship and came here to see if someone would be able to host me and, WOW, would you? I read this with tears in my eyes, isn’t that a blessing? I would feel really blessed to be hosted during Passion. Thank you!

      Christie says:

      Sherrie,

Wow! This is incredibly kind, generous, and selfless of you to offer to host people in your apartment for free! I have received one of the LPM scholarships to attend Passion 2013, and it would really be a huge blessing to not have to worry about hotel or housing costs considering that air fare is already expensive enough. How much space do you have? I live with chronic pain and other health issues, and I will need a caregiver to attend the conference with me. So, I don’t know if it would work for you to possibly house two of us, but we would be tremendously grateful if you could. I really don’t want to impose on you though, and with my health situation it may be better to stay in a hotel. I’ve already seen God provide for part of my conference expenses by allowing me to receive one of the 2000 LPM scholarships, and I’m trusting that The Lord will take care of all my conference related needs in some way and it will be neat to see what else He does! You are so sweet and thoughtful, and I don’t want you to feel any pressure or obligation to say yes. Thank you for your offer and for taking the time to read this! May God richly bless you for your kindness and hospitality!

Wow! That is not even enough to describe it!
We are a small church of about 30, we are taking 11 college students to Passion!!
And as another blogger was saying about her daughters, these kids were changed by God at Passion, and it has continued to affect their lives through this year!

Praying for all of those who get to attend!

I was truly blessed last week when Beth spoke in Reading, and I am truly blessed by the resources LPM provides. It was the first time I had attended a simulcast. Thank you to all of the regulars who post on this blog. It encourages me to see women who are prayer warriors and seeking after God. Women who are not perfect, but who are sharpening each other. I just turned 23 and you have no idea what it means to see women modeling what it means to pray, seek and respond to what God has put on their hearts. Thanks for being real and a blessing to me!

Hi Emily, we aren’t having any issues on this end, so I would suggest trying again until you get it to go through. Once you submit, you should receive a confirmation email saying they’ve received your confirmation, and then about a week after that, you’ll receive another email stating whether or not your were awarded a scholarship. The only reason you wouldn’t receive one is because each scholarship has been spoken for. I hope that makes sense. Keep trying, girl!

Hi Amanda! When you submitted your application did you receive a confirmation email saying they received your application? You should have received that first, and then another email about a week later to confirm if you got a scholarship or not. If you never got a confirmation email, I would go ahead and apply again. That is key! I am so sorry, Sister! Let me know if you need any help.

      • Amanda Burgess says:

If I were you I might go ahead and email Passion. You can find their email address on the FAQ page of their site: http://www.268generation.com. They’re currently in Africa serving, so I imagine some of the wait has to do with that as well. I am so sorry you haven’t heard yet! But, since you did get a confirmation email I’m certain you’ll hear something soon. Blessings!

I was looking for the info for the scholarships. I wanted to recommend a young lady from our church. Her name is Kathy Cabezas. She is a faithful member of our church. She is an incredible young lady. Last year she was planning on going and on December 1, her father suffered a massive heart attack. He has been hospitalized since then and not doing well at all. It has been her desire to go this year but this family is struggling financially. The church is planning on doing some fundraising for the group that is planning on going – but she doesn’t know if that will be enough. She is a full time student, working and helping take her of her father. Her mom is not working so whatever Kathy or her sister earn is to help out with the family and the expenses.
I just pray that there can be some sort of blessing for this young lady.
If you need more information, anything please contact me.
I know that is experience will be a tremendous blessing that will refresh her soul – which is much needed. I ask you to please consider this request or let me know where else I can look
    In Christ Jesus,
    Debra Cabrera

I was wondering if there is anyway I could go to Passion 2013. I’ve never been and really want to experience God in a major way. Are there any more scholarships that would be available? Or some way I could get some assistance to go?

    Hi Beth,

I really would love to be able to go to Passion this year but am one of the ones that cannot afford it. I tried to sign up for the scholarship, but wasnt sure if it was available anymore because the link didn’t take me to the page to register for the scholarship. (I also have never attended before.)

Sorry for the inconvenience. I just know that this is a place that the LORD wants me to be at this coming year. I dont know how HE is going to provide, but I am sure that He will because HE is oh so faithful.

    Love in Him,
    Gloria Marie
