Happy Bosses Day!

Today was like any typical Monday at LPM. We all arrived, debriefed our weekend with one another then put the pedal to the metal and got to work. Every Monday, as you’ve probably heard us say over and over again, instead of eating lunch, we have staff prayer time.

This Monday, however, we put a slight hold on our routine to celebrate our beloved bosses, Beth and Sabrina. Instead of scattering back to our offices after prayer time, we had a few surprises, which included a gift for each of them and snacks to celebrate these dear ladies. It was only necessary!

Our snacks included some delicious pastries from Panera Bread and we got our sweet Beth an incredibly soft and comfortable blanket and Sabrina a beautiful brass bracelet. It was so fun to watch them open their gifts with such excitement. I think my favorite part was when Sabrina was opening her gift and Beth said, “I’m so excited and I don’t even know what it is!” When it comes to all things girly, exciting and fun, there is just no place and no women like The Villiage. They do it up right!

All fun aside, these ladies are so dear to each and everyone of us at LPM. Sabrina works tirelessly to serve not only y’all, but also her staff. She does so much behind the scene work that I don’t even think I know all that she does. I am deeply grateful for her. Not to mention the fact that she can have a lot of fun! But that should come as no surprise to you.

If it weren’t for God’s work in Beth’s life, Living Proof Ministries wouldn’t exist and most likely, we would not be celebrating these wonderful women today. To say we love her is a vast understatement, and I know y’all love her too. I often think of John the Baptist when I think of Beth because she has certainly prepared and paved the way for us to know and love Jesus greater. Her greatest desire is that we would fall head over heels in love with Him and I think the Lord is pleased with her and the way she’s done just that and continues to do just that.

Both of these precious sisters are not only godly, but hilarious, fun, generous, beautiful, teachers and can pray down a room. They make LPM an even sweeter place to work.

I’ve only been on staff a mere six weeks and I can honestly say it’s been some of the sweetest and best weeks of my life. I couldn’t have imagined how much I would love these ladies like I do today. Yes, I think I can speak on behalf of every staff member at LPM to say that these bosses are a blessing

Yesterday was actually National Bosses Day, but today, how can you bless your boss? I realize that you might not be in an ideal situation and your boss may not be a blessing, and for that my heart is tender to you, but oh, if you blessed them in Jesus’ name. Let’s pray for our bosses!

So, here’s to our bosses! LPM loves you both so, so much!

P.S. How many times can I use the word bosses in one post? Forgive me, friends.

We are so thankful for Beth and Sabrina! Give them hugs from us!

I don’t have a boss, since I’ve been unemployed a long time. But I was thinking about Beth’s “hairbrush” video from Life Today. When asked what made her do that, she said, “Jesus. He’s the bossiest thing.”

So I was thinking about that and Col 3.23 and how one role of Jesus is our boss. I don’t want to “work for myself” thru this life, I want Jesus to be my Boss. And how can I bless my Boss today? I ask myself – did I believe and trust God today? Did I glorify God today? Did I give Him my firstfruits of time & attention? Did I do my best at what God has called me to do? Did I love God with my whole heart, soul, mind, and strength?

I am sure I did not do all that, but I want to strive for that, today and every day.

Happy bosses’ day, Jesus. You are the best boss (and God) ever. ♥

Dear Lindsee, thank you for sharing the celebration for your bosses. I don’t know Sabrina, but you made her sound like the perfect Christian woman and boss and, of course, we all know your other boss, Beth. Just be there to support and encourage their work, which is so important to all of us out here in psyberland. God Bless you all and your work on our behalf at LPL. Hugs and kisses from northern California. Sondra

I’m a SAHM and so was thinking of my hubby as my “boss”, but I like Michele’s viewpoint better. And it’s more accurate, too (praise the Lord–though my honey’s darling). Knowing God is my ultimate Boss truly helps me treat all my “fellow-employees” much better 🙂 I guess I could think of Grady as my shift supervisor. How’s that for theologically sound? Now, how to bless them both today–my Boss and my supervisor? Again, I’ll borrow from Michele: am I reflecting all that God has designed for me to today? Whether I was mopping floors or doing laundry (it is Monday, afterall)? And Prov 31 has plenty of advice for my super: bring him good, not harm all the days of his life; allow him to have full confidence in me; showing integrity in all my dealings. Does that mean I have to serve veggies every night? I better go thaw something.

Oh how I would LOVE to see Beth find something in camel’s hair to wear! What a riot that would be, especially if she wore it to the wednesdays with Beth thing on Life Today! I have really enjoyed reading this blog and catching up with whatever you all are doing. Been reading for some time, I just don’t post much, as usually I don’t have much to say. I also very much enjoy reading thru the comments. I so wish there were a way to have a forum connected to the site, where we could be an easier community to keep track of! Blessigns for all you guys do to keep us hungry for a hunger for God!

    Jabber Jaws says:

I am certain that God clearly demonstrated to me His lavish love in supplying my job in a time of super great overwhelming need. Specifically, God satisfied and discharged all the needs we had and then do what I never ever thought to do — He gave me a dear sweet friend to be my boss. I am telling you that at least 3 times a year I weep in gratitude that God saw fit to match me with a dear woman to be a true friend to me. And she is precious and kind and honorable. And, we are lawyers so I know that is unusual in our field.
And as a funny, my sweet 10 year old son asked her if she was my boss. She graciously said I am your Mom’s friend first and then her boss. He looked her square in the eyes and then said well, that means you won’t ever fire her, right!?!
We laughed for days on that.

We are so thankful for a ministry that honors and gives glory to God! We especially love all the Bible studies, that we learn God’s Word and how to apply it to our lives.
We appreciate the time effort so many of you take to do God’s work.
A special “thank-you” to Beth. I know she lays everything down at the feet of our sweet Jesus and trusts in His wisdom to be able to do all the things she does as a servant and a woman of God.
Will say a special prayer for all of you today…you are on our hearts. Thank you for your lovingkindness, your faithfulness, your sacrifice and your wonderful works in Christ!

Wow! I can’t believe I missed it – especially because I’m blessed to have a great boss! That’ll teach me to skip days of checking in here! But I guess it’s never too late – this is me, leaving now to go buy the biggest Hershey bar I can find to place on my boss’s desk (he’s an admitted addict when it comes to anything Hershey!). And maybe a small one for me? Yes, I think so! Hugs all around

Thank you, as always, for sharing! This post actually reminded me to text over a sweet message to my boss yesterday, so I thank you for the brownie points I’m sure collected then as well. =)

I hope ALL of you wonderful Siestas have an AMAZING day! Shoulder to shoulder.

Lindsee – you’ve been there 6 weeks already? Wow – time flies. Beth’s comment on being so excited and not knowing what her gift was, immediately brought a smile to my face because it reminded me of my daughter when she was about 4. The same thing happened to her on her birthday and she was so precious. She would exclaim over each gift as she unwrapped it, “I don’t know what it is!” in a sing-songy curious little sweet voice.

Loved the preponderance of the “bosses” usage :-)…for some reason, it reminded me of one of Beth’s stories about her daughter, Melissa at the very tender age of 4, beginning many a day with the question, “are you going to boss me today??”

Haha!! Let there be none of that bossing around at the office today!! Have a great day!!

I just love your boss and I am a huge fan. Not only am I a Siesta, but a follower of Christ and I just love doing Beth’s bible studies. I don’t think that I can count how many that I have done. I have seen her at her conferences when she has come to Arizona and when she has done her live feed. I just love Beth and the knowledge of Christ that she has to offer. This past weekend I was in Houston and I decided to attend church where her son in law started his own church. I was so excited to worship in Houston. Believe it or not, because Beth was not working but worshiping and enjoying her family, I could not bring myself to introduce myself and say hello. I wanted to so bad but I just couldn’t intrude on her space. Maybe one day I will get to give her a hug and say hello, but for now, I just wanted to say how much I love and appreciate the work that you all do.

We just watched the session where Beth described a day of celebration where LPM had several prayers answered all at once, and there was a little dance party with some CeCe Winans (who just made the Hollywood Walk of Fame, girls. Woo Hoo!) Tears came to my eyes when she told of ladies who walked by and returned to ask for prayer from this group of prayer warriors who obviously see God give answers!

Praise God for you all, and your beautiful bosses!
