What a fun video!! Happy Birthday, Amanda. I hope you all had a blast on Thursday. I just can’t wait to begin the James study!!! Love when you video us and I absoulutely can’t wait to live stream. I am currently doing the Women’s Resolution with Pricilla Shirer and it is the coolest thing ever to be able to talk to her and ask questions.

You are such a blessing to me! By the way how come everytime I see you you look younger? I need your secrets. I also LOVE your hair a bit longer.

    Love you bunches!!!

Hi Tricia! A Siesta is simply a reader of this blog. If you read this blog, then consider yourself a Siesta. You’re doing good as you already know how to comment! It’s so fun!

Love the live stream idea!! We should do a live stream worship and prayer meeting together – streaming from wherever you guys have your staff prayer meeting or something. Just something really simple, not too fancy or put together, but a time when we can all gather together for an hour or so and join in prayer for different topics.

Happy Friday! Thanks for the video greeting, Beth!
Just wanted to comment and tell you that I JUST listened to the third sermon in Matt Chandler’s Habakkuk series this morning and he quotes 1 Peter 1:13 too! (I always listen up when God does that kind of thing! wink wink.) In the verse, Pastor Matt focused on the grace on which we are called to set our hope–and I thought that was appropriate too for our Siestas who are struggling with the SSMT…girlfriends, we can and will do this ONLY by the GRACE of God. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY yourself through–and as our Siesta Mama says, “do the thang!” His grace abounds and ONLY HE provides the growth in our lives (Col 2:19). He WILL produce fruit in our lives through meditating on His Word (Psm 1:3).
Praise you, Lord for your Word. It is life to us!
Getting excited for verse #20 tomorrow!
    LOVE–and happy weekend!

    Rosemary Daniels says:

    Dear Beth,
You are a Blessing! I am currently reading your book, So Long Insecurity. It is one in a long line of Beth Moore bible studies that I have done over the years.
On May 22, my husband and I were in the path of the Joplin,Mo tornado. Our home was destroyed and we lost everything, including my library of Beth Moore books and studies. We were injured and hospitalized for several days after the storm and fortunate to be alive.
I just got to chapter 9,”A Time and Place to Heal.” While reading the prayer that God laid on your heart, I was reduced to tears when I read the words “Where I lost a home, grant me an internal, unshakable sense of belonging…when my life is rocked by dramatic change. Empower me to trust you..”
Our life has been turned upside down but our faith is right side up. Thank you for putting it into words. It is so assuring to know that our God is always in control! Sincerely, Rosemary Daniels, Joplin, Mo.

I am so glad I didn’t miss this! It is good to hear updates from you Beth on Amanda, Melissa, Keith, and your sister and Michelle…Mercy Triumphs should be a study my women’s group I’m in with my church does next:)…Very much looking forward to that!…I will pray for Melissa with the schooling, I noticed she hadn’t posted much in awhile…Lindsee working on a way for us siestas to stream live with you Beth sounds soo great to me too:):) Hugs always to you Beth, I want you to know that, this siesta-in-Christ loves you.

    Maureen Chabot says:

Well you really spoke to me Beth in that I was frightened to death at the thought of learning these verses but really asked God to help…I know, that sounds so simple, but in fact, it was…that simple!! I am MEMORY CHALLENGED!! Big time!! But, I am on target and have learned each verse…word for word…backward and forward and am in awe and stand amazed at what my brain is capable of! So, I want to encourage those who have dropped out or feel defeated…wherever you are…whatever you’ve learned from God’s word is good…in fact, powerful and you “can do all things THROUGH CHRIST who [will strengthen] you” if you commit to start now. Don’t worry about what you haven’t done…think about the amazing opportunity to do what you can in His strength.

Love this video! A little this. A little that. Kind of how we live our lives! Love the final exhortation to stay in the Word! And love your heart for God and God’s girls!

Thanks for your consistently faithful pursuit of God and your equally persistent faithfulness to strengthen women in the Word and challenge us to live lives that honor Him.

    Oh, how He is worthy!

Thanks for the chat 🙂 I am SO excited about the SSMTC and the live stream possibilities!!! And that God brought forward the young women to fill each scholarship ~ and then some, I’m sure! I cannot wait to pray for them by name 🙂 Thanks for the update on the family, too.

Just had to share…back when you were surprise gifted with your ipad, I showed my husband that post. He was really wanting one and kinda had the “Lucky” response ~ like you were and he’s not!! Well, over the last {almost} 11 years of our marriage God has done some work on my husband’s financial choices and he did NOT buy one. We didn’t have the money, he didn’t NEED it, etc. Well, we’ve been at our current church for just over a year now and our elders surprised him with the ipad2 for working beyond their expectations PLUS money for accessories, apps, whatever. We have been in ministry our entire married life and this type of generosity has never been shown us. We are blown away. AND the gift came after a Sunday morning where 5 people were baptized~a married couple and a woman with two of her precious children. A fresh reminder that we are not (and never have been) worthy of such good gifts, it is only by God’s grace. I couldn’t help but think of how you were wanting an ipad, too, but had shelved the idea, only to be surprised with it later. A gift’s definitely not where we find our joy, but it can be a reminder of God’s faithfulness ~ He is the giver of all good gifts, after all. And as much fun as a tangible gift can be, it’s nothing compared to the encouragement and support we receive from the givers ~ this group of men leading alongside each other.
Sorry to be so lengthy…I wanted to make sure my words weren’t misleading…I’m sure you understand 🙂
    love,
    Audrey

LOVE the video, Beth! Can’t wait for the live stream! How fun will that be??? :):) Beth, you and the whole LPM team are such a refreshing part of my week. I went to Living Proof Live back in September and was so moved. God used you in a mighty way to minister to me. His words (through you) spoke DIRECTLY to my heart. It’s funny that thousands of people showed up to hear a conversation between me and God. Just kidding – I know everyone was moved because, girlfriend, you can flat out preach it! I’ve been reading the blog since then and kept wondering how one becomes a “siesta” – then, tonight I was excited to see that I AM a “siesta” because I’m now a regular here. Thank you so much for your ministry.

    Beth McBride says:

Hi Beth, I’m the lady who met up with you at the elevator at the Marriott in Baltimore the morning before your conference. My revelation was from God, and it’s not a new one – He just knows I needed to hear it fresh from you. I am in the midst of writing a letter to you, since you so kindly invited me to reach out to you and let you know how things go. I am not sure you will even check this comment since I am responding to a post over 2 weeks ago. Here’s the question, and maybe it is a little too heavy. I am stepping out in faith to fulfill God’s purpose for me – the way in which I can glorify best – which I believe is through sharing my story…forcing me to step out of the net of shame and rejection I was in. But what happens when you know the Enemy is going to come back at you the same way – and you are expecting that – and then the whammy is that he uses someone you least expect to deliver the blow. Someone you love most on this Earth who has always been your biggest supporter? There has already been reconciliation even though it just happened last night but the wound is open again. The same wound I was writing to you about. I have just been wounded by a different person, one I trusted most. The ways in which I have been attacked since the conference are familiar but taken to the next level. Sorry if this is too heavy. My letter will follow. Putting on the finishing touches. Thanks for your faithfulness to God shown through your incredible ministry to women.
