A Little Surprise and A Lot of Love

Hey, Sweet Things! Today is my first official day back to work after the James taping and the first thing I did, after hugging coworkers, was sit down and tape a video greeting to you. It takes a day or two to get it on Vimeo but we’ll have it up here on the blog just as soon as we can. It’s, of course, mostly ridiculous except to us Siestas so rein in your expectations. It’s just me saying hey to you after being away for so long and thanking you for your prayers. But as God would have it, I have another reason to hop on here today. I’ve been waiting for it to come in so that I could tell you about it and we literally just opened the box. Here it is:

It’s the brand new (workbook) So Long Insecurity Group Experience! Look really closely now:

Exactly right here:

Lean on in!

One more time!

This one’s for you, Siestas. It hits the shelves this coming week. I love you so dearly. We’ll do a giveaway soon but I couldn’t wait till then to show it to you. I’m not meaning to make a bigger deal out of it than it is but, Girlfriend, it’s big to me. Your Mama.

Insecurity! That is for sure what I had when I wrote the first post that I wrote the other night. I was going to have to say goodby to a relationship that has lasted 13 years. How was I gonna make it without seeing my counselor at least monthly? I have had so much going on in my life and she has been there to help me through some really tough times and now I have to solo. The Lord has seen fit to keep my moods stable for over a year now and no it is not just a nutty one who “has gotten too much religion” This is much deeper than that. I have realized the past 24 hrs that I do not need what a counselor has to offer any more but I can teach others what and how I got through some of the hard bumps in life. Satan tells me I won’t make it and that negativity keeps rearing it’s ugly head but I keep throwing Philippians 4 at him and today I realise I am going to be just fine. I have a friend that sticks closer than a brother and He never disappoints. He never fails and He never leaves our side unless He carries us. Can not wait to get the workbook and do the study. Thanks Beth

I thank the Lord for this source of encouragement, and I pray that this blog would be used by the Lord to lead us all onto maturity in our walk, a deeper love for Him, and a purer heart and faith because we have been mutually encouraged by each other, and boy, do I need it…and all the more as we see the day approaching…best glorious day ever that will be when He comes for us, Amen.

    Hi Beth!
I am sooo.. excited about your new workbook for your book “No Longer insecurity”!! I was just looking on your website for it today and not finding it, started searching other things about you and ran across this blog! How can I get a copy as soon as possible? Thank you so much for doing this! I am finding your book a great RESOURCE in what God has ‘called’ me to do in ministering to women. As a Sanguine, I must explain! 🙂
First of all, I just want you to know, that you are an absolute delight to me! I can relate to your passion, your love for the Lord and the things that grieve your heart also grieve my heart! So often I hear your comments either on Moody or in one of your Bible Studies, the last one was “The Patriarchs”, or in the book “No Longer Insecurity” which I am reading now, and I feel like you are my public voice!! What God tells you, He has also been stirring my heart with. I cannot tell you how excited I am to not only learning so much from you but to relate so easily to you, as I am also a Sanguine ‘across the board’..I am also studying Temperaments in pursuing my Masters degree, so I am very familiar with this. I am a Biblical Counselor for women and my husband’s helper in our outreach ministry “Jesus to Muslims”-reaching Muslims with the Gospel and mostly ‘equipping and educating’ the body of Christ through church venues on ‘An Understanding of Islam, so to reach Muslims with the Truth of the Gospel’. Your explanation you used in the middle of The Patriarchs study, in which you were advised by Ergun Caner about the manifestation of jealousy between Isaac and Ishmael was so simple and clear to me, as it truly gets to the ‘root issue’ of today’s problem that is literally causing the destruction of so many souls and beginning to encroach upon our precious Nation established on Christian principles!!! My Counseling experience has taught me that every problem we face has a ‘root issue’ that need Scriptural HEALING from the Lord and if we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him and his wisdom will guide our paths to real solutions for Healing and Freedom of Bondage! That is where I found it for me from my own ‘women at the well’ type testimony and I am Free in Christ indeed!! Praise our Father in heaven whom knows our needs and knows us!!
My husband, Dr Steven Masood, is not only a former devout scholarly Muslim from Peshawar, Pakistan, who became a Christian out of his search for truth at age 23 (1973)(autobiography “Into the Light” found on our website along with other resources), but a Professor out of London School of Theology and Manchester England,(see http://www.stevenmasood.org for credentials) whom God brought to the USA in 2005 to marry me (little ‘ol me :-0) and we begin this ministry here in the USA. As a devout follower of Christ who finally got obedient to God’s ‘calling’ and devotion, and was completely content in my singleness, as a “Biblical Counselor” at Calvary Chapel Ft Lauderdale, FL and a Crisis Pregnancy Counselor at Hope Pregnancy Centers, God ‘plopped’ this incredible man into my life, when I least expected it! Steven is the humblest, sweetest, most devout man I have ever known, who puts God first and serves the Lord completely, in his ‘calling’, with his life!
After God directed us to north central FL near Ocala, He has been using me more these days in ministering to women who have converted to Christian inside a Muslim family, marriage or community, who struggle with ‘fear’ because of the incredible ‘anger’ that is now directed to them personally for this conversion. My husband has a life time of persecution as an “Apostate” because of his conversion and God has rescued him every time! As you are, I am also an encourager, although I sometimes struggle with the way to put things as I am a straight shooter with Truth. I so admire the way you put things and I think that southern style really is your advantage in being able to speak truth in Southern love. I am from Maine originally and had most of my life’s experiences (24 yrs) in metropolitan NY/NJ so that may be why my Truth in Love still offends at times (or I am still just too sensitive to the rejection), when I thought I said the same thing you did!!  Could you send some of that southern accent and mannerism, my way, girl? Funny thing is I dreamed of being a ‘Southern Bell’ as a little girl! I guess moving to FL just isn’t southern enough!!-LOL After all, they say ’you can take the girl out of Maine but you can’t take the Maine (or maybe it’s the N/NJ) out of the girl’, right?
Anyway, these women struggle with Scripture that convicts them God hates divorce and their submissive to their husbands. They struggle with their ‘boundary lines’ on how much abuse to take and how submissive they need to be to ‘draw’ their unbelieving Muslim spouse, family to Christ. Most of the time, they will lose the children and financial support by leaving, as they have been taught to believe that they should not work, yet without working they cannot support themselves outside that home. It turns out to be another way the Muslim husband/family controls them. They need huge amounts of FAITH to leave anyway, trusting that the Lord will provide. I see those who have left, get incredible provision and can only glorify God for it, yet they fight with me and my encouragement that God will provide for them too. In most cases, a separation without divorce is the best gradual way of seeing the real situation and helping the women to get stronger in her ‘walk’ so to be able to be more spiritual in speaking into the husband’s life or defining her boundaries more clearly so to determine whether he truly loves her or is following the Islamic law, that marriage is a contract only. While we know she needs to break that contract with the devil, she struggles with that ‘addiction to control’ and ‘fear’ of the unknown. It reminds me of how Abraham was able to rescue Lot out of Sodom by living outside of that wicked city and Lot became so immune to Sodom and Gomorrah’s wicked way of living, he was willing to sacrifice his own virgin daughters to the homosexuals to protect his male Saintly visitors and to cover his own embarrassment!
The body of Christ needs to really embrace becoming these women’s new family support, especially since family and community support is so strong in Islam and they end up losing that support instantly because of their conversion!
Sister, I truly covet your prayers as I know where two or more are gathered, He is in our midst. Please pray for more Christians to get equipped in this area of ‘understanding their enemy ‘, who is using Islam as his strongest tool to take down Christians today. Pray for the protection of American women, to not be deceived by the ideology of Islam through Muslim men coming to the USA looking to marry but are really looking for visas, new & weak minded Christian wives so to eventually convert to Islam or just use the children to brainwash to Islam. As Steven’s father had 4 wives, this is one way to dominate by procreation with an average of 8.1 children per Muslim family. These men are luring women into marriage to a ‘religious’ looking man because they believe the lie “Islam and Christianity worship the same God and the same Jesus” and women want marriage and children by God’s design! I pray for more older women to minister into younger women’s lives as in Titus 2, as you are doing, so Christian women are stronger in the truth of the Word, so not to be tripped up by Satan and his schemes through Islam. Also, please pray that more Christians will seek to understand the need to support these women converts in a more direct way, like Jesus would. Please pray for our ministry to always be in God’s will in what we are doing in ‘our calling’ and that those God has ‘called’ to support it will heed to His call.
Thank you for all you do that encourages me and those I am ministering to!! Love & Blesings Karen

Bible Study on-line, with the siestas, was eye opening, comforting, and everyone who participated gave so generously of themselves. Many of you touched my soul with your stories and they will be with me forever, thank you.

Beth, I’m not sure where to write this to you, so I’m thinking here is probably my best shot. I can not tell you how excited this post has made me! I read through the book with all us Siestas last April and it had a wonderful impact on me. The Lord has taught me SO MUCH in the past 1 1/2 years and I have found FREEDOM!!! Your book was one of many instrumental pieces in my journey. Anyways, fast-forward, and I asked my pastor a few weeks back if I could share my journey to freedom at my church and how it’s impacted me as a mom on Mother’s Day. Only God knows what all He has planned with the message I gave–it was a wonderful morning and I have had so many women thanking me for talking right to their hearts. All Glory to God!!! Anyway, I REALLY would appreciate you listening to my sharing time because I think you would love to hear how the Lord has been working in my life. The link is to the whole church service, so if you need to/want to, feel free to “fast forward” to the sermon part. Jay Shetler will begin the message, then I share, then he concludes the message time. It’s about 20 minutes long–perfect for your own quite time-hee, hee! Thank you, Beth, for listening to the Holy Spirit and writing your thoughts down in your book because it has inspired many and now I have shared my own thoughts and we’ll see how this journey continues on to the next woman! So exciting to be a part of!

Here is the link to my sharing time: http://media.monkserve.com/EKK/150/mcch20110508.mp3

What I’m so excited about with this post is that now I get to try to help all these other women who came up to me after my sharing time in their own journey to freedom by using this study guide as soon as it comes out! It’s perfect…God is perfect…all the time.

Blessings to you, my sister, my friend,

I just wanted to share that I am so excited for this workbook! So Long Insecurity has been life changing for me and I tell every woman it is a must read!! (My husband has even read a few pages)

While I was reading chapter 17, Beth was sharing about a moment of God speaking to her about how to know and recognize when God is speaking to you. I had been feeling God put forgiveness on my heart for the woman who had an affair with my husband last summer. I ignored it for almost 6 weeks until I read this chapter. When I finally realized it was God wanting to lift that burden off of my shoulders I prayed about what to say and I texted her that I truly forgave her for everything that happened and GOd bless. I got a text right back saying she had been wanting to email me but she wasnt sure what or how to say she was sorry for what she put me through and she has been doing self-reflecting in her life. I took the opportunity to recommend So Long Insecurity to her and told her I hope God blesses her and her family. I instantly felt like I could fly because 5,000 lbs had been lifted off of my heart!! I still get butterflies when I think about the supernatural strength I received that day from the Lord!!
I have learned so much about myself, God and what it means to have security in the Lord and his word. I have always looked to my husband and money to make feel secure and the moment I turned the fears of money, trust and insecurity over to the Lord I became a new woman. The Lord has given me hope and strength through the verses Beth shares in the book and I keep many of the close to my heart (in my phone notebook ).
Everyday I wake up in amazement with what God is doing in my family, marriage and myself!! My co-workers have even noticed a change in me and one of them ordered So Long Insecurity, she can’t put it down and she thanked me for telling her about the book.

Thank you Beth for hearing God’s words and taking the time to share them with us through this book !!

I’m sure going to miss you guys. Curtis on Wednesdays has become my mid-week spiritual tank filler, and Sunday school days transformed my walk because of your faithful service, Beth.
