Good Morning, Siestas, and Lexington 20-Ticket Giveaway!

Good morning, All! I pray that all of you are prospering in the promised presence of Christ this day. He is so faithful to us, isn’t He? I am packing my suitcase and will board a plane to Lexington, Kentucky today for our Living Proof Live tomorrow and Saturday. The flight in on Friday was too late to risk a delay so I’m going early to shut myself in a hotel room and study. In 28 years of speaking at conferences and women’s retreats, God has never let me miss one due to a travel disaster. Would you believe I’ve only missed one over illness? And had I not been in emergency surgery, I am just crazy enough to have shown up anyway. I recall asking the doctor before he put me under if they could just give me enough pain medication to make it through the event and then I’d come right back to the emergency room when it was over. He just said, “Start counting backwards from ten to one.” I bet it would have been a particularly funny women’s retreat but, of course, we’ll never know.  There have been times when the plane was so delayed that I walked straight onto the platform and other times my bags didn’t make it but God has always purposed to get our team there on time. Sometimes barely but in those times He seemed even more faithful to supply His Word and His peace. I love Him so much. I marvel over a God whose strength is only made more perfect through our weakness.

Jesus is enough for you and me again today, Sisters. He is our Portion. Let’s leave tomorrow to Him. Give us this day our daily bread, Lord.

I cannot wait to see the group God is putting together in Lexington, Kentucky. Trav, the team and I have had a blast in Christ every time He’s sent us to Kentucky. I can still tell you every topic we’ve studied with people in that great State and can see the insides of each auditorium in my mind like the events happened yesterday. It is all and only Jesus. In my quiet time this morning, He reminded me out of John 6:63 that “the flesh counts for NOTHING. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life.”

Oh, Jesus, come to each of us today in this blog community with the power of Your effectual Word and breathe spirit and life into our souls. We need you so much. You are our Everything.

NOW, if any of you would like to come to the Lexington Living Proof Live tomorrow and Saturday but simply cannot afford a ticket, that’s what our Siesta Scholarship Fund is ALL ABOUT! 20 comp tickets are just begging to be claimed. Please call the Living Proof Ministries office toll free at 888-700-1999 and ask to speak to Susan or Kimberly and they’ll get you fixed up! We would be delighted to serve you.

Lord have mercy, I’ve got to pack! I’ll talk to you wonderful things after the weekend. I think Melissa’s going to hop on here and say hi before then. Stay in the Word! Christ will make it spirit and life to you!

You think I’m joking, but all day I’ve been watching my schedule, trying to figure out if I could get out of the office early enough to make the four hour trip to Lexington. I had thought I almost had it figured out when I got a call that three of my fab five — Olivia (2), Juliana (4) and Angelina (7) — are going to be spending the night with me. Oh, I wish I was brave enough to handle the girls in there… I’d LOVE to be there tonight!

    Hi Beth,

I wanted to welcome you to KY & to tell you about the miracle that is my mother. I’m writing to you from her ICU bedside @ University of Kentucky Hospital. On July 27th, little over 2 weeks ago, my mom, Freida Mize, had double lung transplants. I can not begin to tell you the ups & downs, the days & nights w/o sleep, but..I will tell you that God is here! So many miracles, so many awesome things. We’re keeping a daily journal because there has been so much! God-led people who have approached us – people we’ve never met, saying “I’ve felt led to pray for you & whoever is laying behind that ICU door & I don’t know you, but I can’t leave here w/o telling you.”. Even though there has been some very low places on this journey she is taking, there has been more tears shed out of joy, out of love, out of hope, out of the results of out right miracles. God is sooo good!! He is the God who hears me! The first week & a half was rocky, her kidneys have took a beating due to anti-rejection drugs, which has led to dialysis..her heart is having a time adjusting to not having to work so hard like before w/ her old lungs & her new lungs are still trying to a home inside a body that houses an auto-immune disease that destroyed herlungs to begin with. Last week, she had 3 ot of 5 major organs to shut down, BUT, God is mighty & we have all prayed for miracles & people all around her see them performed in her life. We’ve prayed for angels to be with her & every nurse, staff person she has come in contact with has been incredible, beyond belief. Mom Is incredible, a strong fighter & a prayer warrior. She was so calm the morning the call came for her to come to UK, but that was peace was God-sent, just her. Please be in prayer for her. We love your studies & done several. Times like these will bring you to your knees & so many things I’ve learned in your studies have helped to talk to God the way I should & listen very closely. “You do not have because you do not ask” believe me sister, I’ve been asking & believing!

    Love you,

Praying for you, Beth! Just wanted to say that I have really appreciated your advice on working out first thing in the morning. It really is freeing. When I first heard you say that, my initial thought was something like, “I won’t be free because if I work out in the morning, I’ll just dread waking up or crawling out of bed!” Not so. It is so nice to get it done and be freed up the rest of the day! I know that is totally off topic … but just had to tell you.

    Jennie says:

    Beth,

I would just like to say thank you to you and your team for the free ticket. My husband and I just moved to Lexington the beginning of June for him to attend Asbury seminary. Since being here I have felt so lost, uneducated compared to others, unworthy and unable to fulfill this call that I know God has for me in becoming a pastor’s wife and also serving over seas with our precious friends in an unreached people group. I went to see you alone, as I do not know many people here and the ones I do know were busy. Praise God I did! He met me there and picked me up. I realized that I am unable to fulfill this call on my life, if God is not the center of my attention…I must EAT his words; I don’t have to have my own. I finally let him into the place of fear I have been keeping from Him. PRAYing and knowing that he hears me and that HE LOVEs me and that I don’t have to be afraid of not being good enough. As you said, he created me for this generation. I am so thankful that you opened your heart and shared what God spoke to you. He used you this weekend to draw me back to Him and hear a great and encouraging word from Him that my soul dearly needed.

    Siesta Stephanie says:

Beth, Thanks so much to the whole team for your trip to Lexington.. This weekend restored my soul. My husband has started drinking . All of this came to head Thursday before my trip.On top of that I had lost my wrist bands and a ypung girl that grew up with my daughter killed herself this week. Only a precious 14 yrs old. The devil is in overtime in my life, I needed this weekend so bad. God’s word this weekend has directed me on a path. Like you said, I need to let the word soak and penetrate me before he can see it or hear it from me. This is not him, we’ve been married almost 21 years and he has never drank. I feel we are in the desert and I’m guesing we need plowed, tilled and resown. Pray for me and my husband. It was a treat to see you and have our picture made with all the siesta’s. Safe travels and God Bless Stephanie

Oh, Stephanie. I am so, so sorry for such an avalanche of pain on you right now and sick at heart over the 14 year old. We did receive word of that tragedy. May God continue to show you His outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for Him.

      • Siesta Stephanie says:

I am seeing and feeling Gods grace. Later in the afternoon after I posted my post A random text from someone at church that I’m not very close to. It stated that Im thinking about you hope you have a great day and to praise God no matter what and God loves me. How great God is.. Then this morning my youngest of 3 daughters made her profession of father and went up to the alter to present herself for baptism. God truly answers prayers.. I have been asked to lead one of your studies, I have done most of them and may be doing Stepping Up. Just thought you might enjoy this update. Stephanie

Beth, I am still overwhelmed by the way Jesus used you to speak to me this weekend in Lexington. I soooo needed your message. Your sister’s testimony had me bawling my head off and really made me examine my life and behaviors. Please tell her that I could have easily been in her same situation and it’s only because of Jesus, and women like you and her–women brave enough to share their stories–that I did not fall quite that far into the pit. I did not have to sink as low as she had to, but then, I have not been raised up as high as she is now either. I ENVY HER. I ADMIRE AND ESTEEM HER. I still struggle, but you taught me some fresh words to pray this weekend and I will use them as I eat, pray and love my heart out of this season.

I also have to add a huge THANK YOU for meeting with the Siestas and taking a group photo with us. I have been to 5 of your events and it’s always been my heart’s desire to have a picture made with your sweet face. Little did I know the photo, however, would end up being small potatoes to the big hug and the “I love you” you gave me at the end and the few minutes you sat beside me with your hand on lap during the session. How does he know just what we need when we need it?! You totally made my day and although life goes on, I just needed for you to know that you made a difference in mine today.

    Erin says:

Hi! My name is Erin and I am 16. I was just at the Lexington concert a few hours ago and I’ll be the first to tell you that it was incredible! Beth blesses me in a new way each time I see her live. This one was especially incredible because this past summer while on a mission trip during a night of intense prayer I accepted the call to ministry after battling with straying from God for two years. So as a high shook student i am so thankful for opportunities like this where I can get a all inspiring encouragement from God through an incredible speaker like Beth Moore. Now I understand that most people on here are adults and if they read this they’ll think that’s awesome and it is but it’s also incredible hard being a Christian in a public high school where most are not followers of my Lord Jesus Christ. In my first two years of high school, I ruined my God following image which makes it even harder to recreate that image of God in me. So as the end of summer came and school was starting back up I felt God leading me to start a serious daily devotion with Him and so my all time favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 “for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” that verse was the word of God that helped me answer God’s plan for my life instead of my own and it was exactly what Beth’s message was about this weekend. I’ve been going intensly through the book of Jeremiah so I thought it was defiantly a God thing that that’s what book Beth was going through this weekend! It was awesome. This weekend encouraged me to let God plow up that dessert and start working on my passion and relationship with God as a you chosen leader for Him. Praise God for a good word that can even work in a teenagers life!!

I just googled the phrase: eat pray love Beth Moore and the first link it pulls up is Beth’s bio from the lproof website: A LOVE for the Word of God was embedded in Beth’s life when she took a Bible doctrine … She fervently PRAYed for such a passion for God’s Word. … They enjoy traveling, hiking, drinking coffee on the back porch, EATing Mexican food, …

    Isn’t that so funny?

    Jennifer says:

Thank you to Janet – the encourager who prayed for me. I was crying so much that I couldn’t hardly get the words out and I looked at her face and I thought she was going to start crying too, but she held it together and prayed a wonderful prayer over me while the band sang “nothing is impossible for You”. I know that it’s true.

Praising God for the miracle in your family.

    Lynn says:

    Beth,
Our Lord is amazing and isn’t He a right on-time God? My husband is a pastor and I am completing a masters in theology. My most recent class was on prayer. One requirement was to pray for a breakthrough in an area of ministry. I’ve struggled over the last several years with hearing the Lord especially since He answered some prayers contrary to my desires. He spoke mightily to me this weekend. I have let my disappointment become a desert and I have not seen our current ministry as a place of fruit. I want the Lord to plow my dry ground not just with a regular plow but with a sub-soiler that digs down deep and pull up the weeds. I know I can’t be an effective minister to women the way I have been. Thank you for letting God use you Beth to show me the breakthrough He has planned for me. I can’t wait to see the fruit. By the way Jer. 29:11-14 have been my life verses for years, long before we surrendered to ministry.

I brought four ladies from our church. This was their first Living Proof Live. They were blown away! In a good way, lol. Now they can’t wait to do one of your studies. And we are planning to bring a large group to see you Kay and Priscilla in Louisville.

My first Beth Moore Live event, although I’ve done many of your studies. God has so blessed me with the Word He brought through you this weekend. I’m praising Him for his love and for your willingness to help us walk closer with him. May He richly bless you and your wonderful team for what you give. Everything was a blessing: the teaching, the music, the worship, the fellowship. Love you, Beth.

    Shonda says:

    Beth,

I just got home from Lexington and I am sharing what I learned with my mom, dad, and my man. While doing so I couldn’t help but be brought to tears as I shared your story about your sister.

I was so moved and touched because like you I have a sister who is in a deep dark pit and she’s been there for 11 years. I have prayed for her that my knees have become raw. But I continue in knowing that my God is faithful. I know one day she will come back to Him with open arms. But for right now she just doesn’t want to come out of that pit. I pray for her children. That they will come to know the Lord despite their circumstances. Praise the Lord my 12 year old niece is a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ and she loves Him very much. I just thank you very much for sharing her story.

    Many Blessings, Shonda

  24. 124
    Monica says:

    Beth,

I was there. I saw you and I felt like those girls when they saw the Beatles for the first time. You are a lot better looking than those guys were…haha….Seriously, after 12 years of going along side you in your bible studies, I finally got to see you in person; and it was amazing.
I want to tell you that the praise and worship was AWESOME! Travis and the group are so talented.

God spoke to me today; and I wanted you to know what I got. I have tomatoes that have been growing like crazy in my yard; but all of a sudden, the tomatoes started growing and splitting and rotting right there. That is me….the good fruit that I know I should bear in my life is rotting on the vine. My husband and I pray and seek God everyday; but we aren’t in his word. We pray with our children but have been lazy about attending worship. This has been the longest stretch of “not going to church” in 5 years. I haven’t been searching; I have been stagnant, complacent.
The desert I have been in is the desert of laziness; and He needs to plow that up so that fruit that I know I can bear in this world will grow, be picked and not be rotten.

I was so touched by the story of your sister. Like I said, I have done all the studies but the brand new ones, so I knew what you were referring to; and when you put that picture up there, I could barely stand it. Praise the Lord. But from that story, I realized that I quit praying for people. The “it’s no use” attitude has been in my heart. It’s not like I wasn’t worried or thinking about them, just not in prayer over them. My mantra now is 37 years, 37 years….it can happen. God can do it!

Now, was that the brother that you have spoken about that is a musician and had wandered away searching for something other than God? I remember you talking about that in a study. Has he come back? I was glad for you to have him there.

May God continue to bless you and keep you under his wing. May YOUR words continue to bring God glory. Praise God for his healing power in your life!

    Thank you.

I want to eat EVERY word God has for me…for it is my joy and my hearts delight. Our church is on week 5 of the Esther Bible Study. It is our first one and it is amazing what has already been done in the 1st 5 weeks. The timing of this Bible Study was perfect. Lives are being changed. Thank you for staying humble and letting God work through you for such a time as this. May God continue to bless you as you bless us.

    Dear Beth,
Thank you for a wonderful conference in Lexington!! I was there and as always I was so excited to hear God speak through you to me! I was so moved and touched by your sisters story and it is so reaffirming to see that God has worked another miracle! Especially since I often tell others I am one myself! I wrote to you about a month ago, and then just recently found out that my husband wrote to you as well about my own “story” and recovery and how God has impacted my life through you! I was so surprised and had no idea what he had said in his letter until I got home from Lexington last night and a copy of his letter was laying on my bedside table! What a blessing it was to see that he loved me enough, saw the miracles God had worked in me and in our marriage and wanted to share it with you! I was moved beyond words!Thank you for your correspondence back to both of us! Thank your sister for allowing you to share her words–I would love to find/have a copy of that newsletter to re-read her story?! Is that possible?
I continue to thank God each day that I am no longer living in my own pit! God DOES work miracles and I am one! —You are my inspiration and may God richly bless you and your beautiful family.

Thank you so much for being a willing servant of our Lord! I enjoyed the conference so much, and was so thankful to be there. Your love and devotion to Jesus is so genuine, and I pray that others would see Him in me as they do in you. As a Christian, it was awesome to spend the whole weekend discussing and learning more about my Saviour. As a woman, it was incredible to be united with so many other women in worship. As a Kentucky girl, it was FANtastic that it all happened at Rupp Arena!

    God Bless!

Oh Siesta Mama, my girls from our last Bible study we just finished last week, “When Godly People Do Ungodly Things” totally went to the LPL this weekend!:) They are excited about what God taught them through you in the book of Jeremiah. From what they have told me, it was a word to them indeed!:) My Lord knows I wanted to come, but just couldn’t work around the whole nursing thing with my Baby Girl. So I stayed and prayed:)

Blessings much to you Siesta Mama Beth:):)

    Dear Beth,
I just had to share this with you. My church announced yesterday that we will be one of only two churches in Eastern NC that is hosting the live simulcast of Living Proof Live in September. They showed your promotional video during church. When I went to buy a ticket for myself, my 15 year old daughter, Sarah, said, “Mom, can I go? I got goose bumps watching the video.” Of course, I bought tickets for both of my teenage daughters. Hearing her comment made the day for the ladies planning this event. I cannot wait to see what the Lord will do on Sept. 18! Thank you so much for your faithfulness to teach us ladies, young and old!

    Beth,

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You will never know how much your words meant to me this weekend. My son has been on a path of destruction similar to your sister and to see that God can and does work miracles in those situations is just what I needed to hear. I have surrendered some long held territory to the Lord, and I thank you for that word, as well. I love you and pray for your continued work for the Lord.

I have been busy the last few days and just saw this post. I was in Lexington on Thursday too! I was on my way to drop my only son off at his Freshmen year of college. God was gracious and the tears were few. It’s amazing how much peace a mother can have knowing her child is exactly where he is supposed to be.

A few weeks ago you were in St. Louis and I was there the same day purely by coincidence. Maybe one of these chance visits will allow me to sit under your live teaching once again.
