Simulcast 2009!

This weekend is the Living Proof Live Simulcast from Green Bay, Wisconsin. What in the world is a simulcast, you ask? Here’s how it works. Beth, Travis and the praise team will be at the live conference location in Green Bay while hundreds of host churches across the country will be linked to it through satellite technology. The schedule will be the same as a regular LPL event with one session on Friday night and two sessions on Saturday morning.

My family’s home church happens to be a host site. So on Friday night I will go there along with my co-workers and we will take part in the event. We will get to experience worship and Bible study as though we are right there in Green Bay, only our trip home will be much shorter and we’ll get to sleep in our own beds!

I’ve been to one other simulcast event and while I was a little skeptical about it at first, I was pleasantly surprised that I lost the sense that my mom wasn’t actually on the stage right in front of me. I felt completely engaged in everything that was going on and it was like we were in the same room with the host group.

If this isn’t the year for you to get to travel to a Living Proof Live event and stay in a hotel with a bunch of your girlfriends, this is a great option to look into. Or even if you have been to a conference this year, who couldn’t use another weekend in the Word? You can visit this page on LifeWay’s web site for more information and to search for a satellite location near you.

I’d love to invite anyone in the Houston area to be a part of the simulcast at my church, Houston’s First Baptist. You can click here to see the schedule, get directions, etc. Tickets are $10 and you can either buy them online or at the door. The event will take place in the sanctuary.

And finally, bless my mom’s heart, here is a little video she made for the event. I hope she doesn’t have to wear the cheese hat this weekend because it will seriously flatten out her bangs. I heard that a certain miesta was supposed to be cheesin’ it up with her on the video, but rumor has it he accidentally overslept and missed the filming.

An Important Message from Beth Moore from LWEvents on Vimeo.

P.S. Mom just said I could tell you that she’s teaching out of Psalm 37 and the theme will be “The Heart of Our Desires.”

I am going. It seems to be a birthday tradition in my family. last year it was my mom;s birthday on simulcast weekend, this year my baby girl is turning ONE. no she is not coming to the event -Travis is too loud for her delicate ears just yet. But still! What a great way to start off the day.

Looking forward to it, and praying for your mom and the praise team.

I will be attending my first LPL simulcast in San Angelo, Texas at The Heights Baptist Church (50 miles away)and I am so excited. Two of the ladies I did the SSBS online with will be attending also…one in Canada and one on the east coast. Once again we will be in God's Word together…is that awesome, or what? We will certainly have something to blog about after this weekend. We love you for continuing to bring the Siestas together to hear what God has for us. Take care and be safe…

What!? Beth, you were BORN in Green Bay?? No way! And here I thought we were so culturally opposite. You are coming back to your roots! That video was awesome. It takes someone who really cares to put a cheese on their head. I see you understand how it is here.

I am going to be in Green Bay this weekend with 16 other ladies from our church and ministry. I cannot wait! Beth, you've taken me on so many Bible study journeys…I feel like you are my spiritual mama. It's my first time to have the opportunity to attend an event, and if I get within 10ft of you, I might have to hug your neck. I hope that won't freak you out. 🙂 I'm going to have my coffee now and read Psalm 37. Thanks, Amanda!

I showed my 12 year old son this video because he is a major Packer fan. When he saw it he said, "sweet"! That's the utmost praise from a 7th grader. You rock! I'll also have you know he said, "she's a grandma? – "she's young!" You can live off that comment for a long while siesta!! Enjoy!

OOOOOOOOOOOO I am so torn there is a simulcast in my area but my church is moving. This is the last week we will celebrate the Lords day in it and we celebrate on Saturday. We are planning to have the Lords supper and that is one of my responsibilities. So unfortunately I am obligated to my fellowship. It is rather coincidental for me that the teaching is on Psalm 37 because I had already chosen verse 4 for my scripture verse for September 1. I guess I will have to wait until the next time. My heart and prayers are with you Beth

Mrs.Beth, I just returned home from a host church. I really wasnt sure about going at first, but I'm glad I got talked in to it. Its been a hard year, after dealing with the aftermath of my fathers suicide, health problems hitting me from every direction, I had lost sight of the desires in my heart. I'm pretty sure I'm the youngest in the host church that I went to, at 19 while all my friends are doing other things this weekend, I know that God placed me there, to get a word from Him, and that is just what He did, I'm finally able to "let go", of all the past hurts and surrender myself to God's will. Thank you for reminding me to, Not gove up on God, He is never going to give up on me.
    Looking forward to tomorrow!

I enjoyed the simulcast from Community Church of Columbus., Indiana…we had storms in the area, so we had a few burps, but got the point….our heart of desires will be God driven when we allow Him the delight and joy in us….can't wait to see what Beth has for us tomorrow. Those cheese heads there in Green Bay are A-OK!!!Hoosiers are very accepting, lol.
The opening words did shake me…avalanche…I lost my second brother in an avalanche in Alaska in 1978 and just went to the pass where he went down last month. His loss of life continued to make me an advocate for the Lord for children and families in crisis.

Beth, I just got home from a host church, and am so glad you opened this up to those of us who can't go to a live program! It gave me new insight into the "desires in my heart". I'm looking forward to tomorrow, and the "rest of the story". My life has been so crazy the last 2-3 years, and God has been opening so many doors for me, and what you teach is very much a part of my journey. Is this something that I can purchase a video or audio of? I would love to watch / listen again. Sometimes I get more out of it the 2nd or 3rd time. Oh! I have another idea! Can you do these as a webcast?

    Nicole says:

I can't say I've ever blogged before, but I felt such a need to say this. For myself, and for anyone else who needs a prayer. I will pray for all of us with Thomas hearts, with spirits overcast with doubt (I'm sure there are many). People like me, who are climbing a mountain of percieved evidence that God does not care or plan to answer the desires of our hearts. For those of us who were taught from birth that nothing about our needs, let alone our desires is of the slightest concern to anyone.
May God shower us with peace, comfort and most of all, courage. We can live our lives choosing to turn away from that aspect of trust in God, and certainly experience a relationship with our Father that is less than…or, we can be courages and face the fear of being let down by the One who knows us and loves us Most.
My prayers tonight are for us all

Just got home from the Simulcast where I viewed it from Central United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, AR.
I can't say enough about the simulcast. How many times have I heard Psalms 37:4 and thought that must be meant for someone else besides me? I've had one particular desire of my heart for many years…substituted cheap alternatives because I thought there was too big a chasm for me to cross to get to the "real deal". Well, thanks to the Lord, through Beth, I have a renewed faith that it will happen. I have some work to do though, and am ready to start! Amen!

(Beth, you're welcome in Fayetteville, AR anytime…we'll call the Hogs with ya!)

I had a great time at the simulcast this weekend. Enjoy hearing biblically sound teaching. Today, I was reminded that God cheers in my delight. He had granted me desires of my heart and now I am watching the fruits of my praying. My husband is attending church every Sunday. Is staying in the Word. I had to become less for him to commit his time to the Lord. Like Beth, I was a big person in church, went to seminary, worked as a minster in a church for several years. when I stepped back. My husband has stepped forward. Now we attend church together, pray together. How wonderful our God is!!

I participated today at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park, KY. I had never heard Beth speak before – but I loved her. The Bible is very hard for me to interpret but she made in so plain. I would never have gotten so much out of Psalm 37 by myself. Thank you Beth for bringing this message to so many people.

    Beth,

I attended the Simulcast and cannot tell you how awesome it was. I returned to church about 3 years ago and have attended 5 of your bible studies at O'Fallon Christian Church near St.Louis, Mo. In that time I have learned so much, but had not experienced a "revelation" like I did during the simulcast. Your acronynm "JAW" struck a raw nerve with me.

I realized for the first time that anger has been holding back my true spiritual awakening and I felt like my heart finally burst open….ready to completely receive God's true love and holy Spirit! I think the statement that anger usually covers an underlying sadness is what resonated instantly with me.

I broke down sobbing as I realized that the lifelong effort to repress the anger that I grew up with was what had been holding me back. My mother was super-strict, verbally abusive and allowed absolutely no disagreement or choice in anything. I was forced to repress a tremendous amount of anger and that had become a way of life for me.

No more. I am determined to work from the midpoint on your arrow with "Reverence" and "Real" efforts to correct relationships that have suffered from that anger.

More importantly, my joy in the Lord is finally dawning. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for your wisdom and dedication to women and faith!

    Please come to St.Louis soon!

    Linda in St. Peters, Mo.
