The Inheritance

What an exciting day! We start our new Bible study – The Inheritance – tonight at Houston’s First Baptist Church. We would love for any of our Houston Siestas to join us. And needless to say, we covet your prayers as we kick off a new semester of Bible study. Please pray for God’s presence to be with us, for Beth to be anointed to teach, for the praise team to lead us before the throne, for our LPM staff and volunteers to serve in excellence and love, for our prayer team to be filled with the Spirit, for our attendees to arrive safely and park easily, and for God to be glorified all semester long. Our Bible study coordinator’s name is Jennifer Hamm in case you’d like to lift her up by name.

Those of you who attended the Siesta Fiesta in San Antonio might be interested to know that that weekend was the springboard for this semester’s study. Beth really wanted to expound on the theme of inheritance in Scripture. I know I’m going to be asked what kind of product might come out of this study and right now my only answer is that I have no idea! I’m confident that God will have His way though.

Here’s some info for anyone who would like to join us tonight.

Reminders about Bible Study…

-Homework is not available for this study.
-Please try to carpool in order to free up more parking spots for our sisters arriving late.
-Avoid traffic by coming early to eat dinner at the Garden Café on-site. The café opens at 4:45pm and serves everything from a boxed dinner, soup, or salad to a hot plate.
-Doors to the Worship Center open at 6 p.m. You may save two seats!
-The resource table is available in the main foyer before and after Bible study. Specialty coffee drinks are also available in the main foyer.
-Need to miss a week of Bible study? The previous week’s lesson is available to view in the chapel at 5 p.m. each Tuesday.
Click here for directions to Houston’s First Baptist Church and additional approved parking locations near the church. The on-site lots typically fill by 6:15pm. Plan to park at one of these garages if you are arriving after this time.

See you soon!

Beth, you rocked my world last night! I am so excited about being a part of this bible study.

I just know this will be my year!

Psalm 16:6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a BEAUTIFUL inheritance.

And here I was thinking that the best gift He gave me was His grace!

    God Bless you Beth!

How exciting! A new study! Is this one Beth will be publishing through Lifeway?

I have a question – in light of the post after this one on the economy, I thought maybe us Siestas could help with some Bible study needs. Our ladies group at church really enjoys being able to do Beth’s studies, but we’ve exhausted the dvd sets we own and don’t have it in our budget to purchase any for a year!(We are a very small church) is there any way we could set up a system here where we could borrow sets from each other? Sort of an exclusive Beth Moore library..lol. I don’t know if there are any legal problems with that or if it is possible at all. If anyone has any ideas if something like this would work, I’m fine with my email being posted!

    Thanks!

    Hey Amanda!

I was away all last week in the moutains with family and nearly went through blog withdrawals!! It feels good to be back in the “modern” world again, although there is definately something to be said for getting away from all our “modern” convieniences and simply enjoying the beauty of God’s creation! There’s something special about the mountains!!

I was one of the siesta’s in SA and my mouth is just waterin’ for the continuing taste of more on “The Inheritance”!! That was some mighty tasty stuff!!!

    Love to you all,

I was at the San Antonio event, although I had just found the blog so I didn’t consider myself a Siesta yet. I was so moved and intriged by Beth’s teaching that I so hoped it would become a larger bible study. I wish it wasn’t such a long commute down I-10 or I’d join y’all.

Although I will not be able to attend “The Inheritance” seminar, I was blessed to be a part of the comcast aired from Chicago 9/18/10. My mother and myself saw you from Hillcrest Church in Kansas City, while my sister got to see you live. We 3 shared the day with you and learned a little more about kindness. Thank you for speaking the Word to me. I recognize I need to show more kindness to both my family and others through my actions and words. I just wanted to send a big THANK YOU your way. Rebecca K.
