I No Like Ike

Hi everyone! The LPM blog is going to be on hiatus for a few days while the Moore-Jones clan attempts to travel to the ranch for the weekend. I say “attempts” because I am so nervous about the traffic! My parents were already planning on going and we have decided to join them in view of Hurricane Ike heading this way. FYI, LPM and all our staff are located a safe distance from the coast, but the danger for those of us on this side of town, assuming it hits close to Houston, will be high winds. I think most people are riding it out. Everyone on the Texas coast appreciates your prayers. We love you girls and we’ll be back soon!
Love,
Amanda

PS – Bible study went great! We are really excited about our group. Thanks for praying on Tuesday!

You all have been in our hearts and prayers here Siestas and Brothers. I have been in the midst of Breaking Free and all day the words I recently read have been coming to me regarding Ike. Your words ,from page 48, Beth are as follows, “Christ does not always immediately calm the storm, but He is always willing to calm His child on the basis of His presence. ‘Don’t worry! I know the winds are raging and the waves are high, but I am God over both. If I let them continue to swell, it’s because I want you to see Me walk on the water.’ We’ll probably never learn to enjoy our storms, but we can learn to enjoy God’s presence in the storm!” Praise God though we pass through the waters He is with us! Thank you for being a vessel God uses to write His word on my heart. Many blessings in this storm. Melinda and family.

Y’all have been on my heart and in my prayers. I ditto the lady who said we feel like there is family out there. Since the news came your whole family has been on my mind. I was sure with the wisdom God has given you that you would know God’s leading and that He would keep all of you safe. It is however, and I thank you so much for keeping us too on your hearts,a great relief that you blogged us. Please be safe and know that the “family” has you covered in prayer.

Joining my faith with all of these women of prayer for the safety of the Moore family and the families at LPM during this storm and afterward. God is your protective shield. Where do I look for help? My help is in You Lord. The sun will not hurt you by day nor the moon by night.

Will LPM be doing any fundraising to minister to all the needs in Galveston/Houston? What an opportuniy to minister as you are right in the middle of such massive need. “For such a time as this…” I’m sure all your siesta sisters will be willing to do everything possible!
