You might be a redneck

We had a fish fry at my mom and dad’s house last night. I just thought I’d share this heartwarming picture with you ladies.

If you serve your family ice cream with a garden spade because you couldn’t find the ice cream scoop – say it with me now – you might be a redneck! (Note from Beth: The weirdest part of this is that Keith wasn’t even trying to be funny. He was simply being practical. I saw his handiwork on the counter, motioned for AJ to look as fast as she could and she just happened to have her camera. I’m not sure he ever knew what the big deal was. Welcome to my home.)

Is it redneck for my husband to have delivered our eldest son using his Swiss Army knife to cut the cord? If it was a girl should it have been sewing scissors?

That is hilarious. Our big red kneck moment has been since we moved into a new house, we now mow our yard with the weed-eater, there is no grass growing, just the weeds. Needless to say the neighbors just smile and wave

As a joke my parents (heavy in the humor department) secured one of those singing bass fish to the front of their Lincoln when they came to visit us the first time when we moved to our new “fancy” neighborhood. All the kids gathered around their car to keep pushing it (they parked in the street, mind you). Talk about the neighbors wondering what was next… My parents thought it was too funny to embarrass me!

You made me smile! My redneck moment: my DH decided that we needed to go tubing while at the cabin. Row boat with a rented moter, water rafts = tube, rope +d the handle/stick from the toilet plunger = tow rope. All that combined created laughs and great memories for the kids. I took pics and they are in the scrapbook!

OK, I know you are all as Southern as sweet tea, but for that, you deserve to be made honorary New Englanders. NEVER have I seen such commitment to getting ice cream from carton to mouth (I’m assuming a bowl was in there somewhere, too). FYI, we in New England eat more ice cream per capita than anyone else in the USA (and it’s really yummy here, too–cold cows make good ice cream, I suppose). A classic moment, captured on film and shared with us. Thank you again.

    Totally worth it!

I Loved It! LOL over and over again.

IMHO Blue Bell is the very best Ice Cream in the world. Whenever I travel to the South I insist on Blue Bell Ice Cream and Sweet Tea immediately after landing at the airport. Within a matter of hours I am on a major sugar overload but smiling inside and out.

I live in Southern California and unfortunately Blue Bell isn’t sold here. I did some research and found that you can purchase and have it shipped from the manufacturer however you must buy 4gallons minimal. I am waiting for that special occassion that will call for such volume.

I absolutely love The Moore’s Jones’s & Fitzpatrick’s…because y’all are the real deal. Thanks for making us smile, laugh, cry & think.
