Only in Texas

Keith just called me into the den to watch a TV clip from the Houston morning news. He’d paused it on the screen so I could really take it in. It seems that an eighteen wheeler carrying “animal entrails” overturned under one of our major freeways. 4000 gallons spilled all over the road causing a considerable traffic jam. Not only am I praying for the truckdriver’s well-being (he does not appear to be in serious condition, praise God), I am praying for him to get a new job. You just never know what kind of load people are carrying.

You’ll be glad to know that we have another post coming quickly so you don’t have to deal with this one for long.

I love you.

I am ashamed to say I had to snicker a bit . . . yes, we never know what kindof load another is carrying . . . that will so preach!

What I can’t seem to get pass is what on earth the entrails are used for? If I knew, would I really want to know? *bleck*

“He’d paused it so I could take it in”. Mmm, yes. Delightful, I’m sure! Sweet of him to think of you! 😀

But 4,000 gallons? Who the heck trucks around 4,000 gallons of guts?

Beth, if that truck driver gets a new job, who will carry the “animal entrails” to their destination? Somebody has to do it. Where was he taking them? What was to be done with them?

I was riding with my DH a few years ago and we took a “covered wagon” full of apples from WA state to VA. The trip was probably 3 days total. Anyway, by the time we drove across the country, that was one stinkin’ load of apples.

Even what seems to be a good load can ultimately turn your stomach. But someone has to get things where they need to be.

Thank the Lord for the people that do the jobs we find undesirable.

    In Christ,
    Nancy

ps: sometimes “animal entrails” are used in dog food. Isn’t that interesting? And how many people let their doggies lick them in the mouth after they have dined on a nice dish of………

I’m definitely thankful for people who do jobs that many of us find undesireable – including my dad and his dad and his dad before him who put food on the table by dealing with people’s overflowing toilets and septic tanks. Thank you to all the plumbers!

Sweet Siesta Beth! How do you DO it?!?!? You are the only person in the whole wide world that can take such a gross, stinky disaster…and find an exquisite truth in it that we need to hear!

Just think, in a few years…maybe in a few months…Jackson will be old enough to appreciate this fascinating-to-guys kinda stuff as only a little boy can…and Keith will be able to share it with someone besides you.

We may miss a few wonderful insights…but at least you might be spared some not-so-wonderful sights!

I was just traveling home from TEXAS yesterday when I saw a dead deer, its entrails sprawled out over the highway. And of course we had just picked up Wendy’s for lunch when we saw it. My husband and I spared our children from the sight, but we both lost our appetites. Ewww.

I was wondering if y’all could include a feedburner on the blog where it could be received via email?
