Beth, you cracked me up with this video, but you also encouraged me. I’ve had a story running through my mind for years, but I’ve never put it to paper/screen. Maybe I will now I tell my students to take chances with their writing. If it’s never published, I’ll at least have done it! I’m so excited to read your book! You are an encourager through Christ. Love how you let God use you!

Afterthought: I like looking up the meaning of people’s names. I don’t know why. Part of my quirky self I suppose. Did you know your name is Hebrew for dwelling place? I think that is quite fitting and a very nice thought. Just thought that might make you smile. Have a nice day.

WAY TO GO! I’m betting that dream was one you have had since you were a very young woman, maybe even a girl. I bet it’s been there, cradled in your heart, and when you hit Send on that final chapter, it was like coming out of labor and delivery with a new child in your arms! What a blessing to see a heart’s desire come into existence!! You are mighty audacious, Ms. Beth, and we sure do love you for it.

Beth, I confess, I’m jealous! I’ve been trying to write a novel since I felt God’s call in 2002! But if anyone deserves to have it just “flow out” of them, it’s you! Congratulations!

For those of you who want to know more about the novel and might want to pre-order it, go to Amazon.com.

I can’t wait to read it, it sounds great!
    Sandy

    Patti Hayes says:

Congratulations! Can’t wait to read it, but I’m not going to until the fiction series I’ve been working on is complete, at which time I will reward myself with what I know will be an amazing read. Thanks for the motivation, too. In fact, all my Siesta friends can be my witnesses, I’m setting a deadline for completing the manuscripts by September 20 just so I can read it when it comes out. I’ve finished the first one, I’m halfway through the second, and the framework is in place for the third, so this can be done. Just the same, prayers are appreciated and cherished.
    Hugs.

    Beth:

RE: THE UNDOING OF ST. SILVANUS

Being a born and raised “YAT” (local name for a New Orleanian) I am always skeptical when an author sets her work in my city. But I cannot tell you how pleased I was as I read your book. No fake accents, no being able to get from the French Quarter to a bayou in five minutes and no representation of us as a dead and lost city. I have a friend who was a partial owner of a building on St. Charles Ave. – a converted church!! And I am sure I have run across a few Adellas around here. So, I wanted to tell you how pleased I was to read your book and how much I thoroughly enjoy it.

I have done some of your Bible studies including the one where you were based out of the Franklin Avenue Baptist Church. I enjoyed sitting under your tutelage and learned much from you about our Lord and Savior Jesus.

If it took five years to produce this fiction please know that to me the time spent is appreciated. I laughed and cried with your characters. They developed slowly yet deeply as the book went on, like a good friendship. Even the characters in law enforcement were not one dimensional and were portrayed as human like the rest of us. The multilayered stories, both past and present were captivating. The storyline kept me wanting to read longer each time I picked it up. I was blessed to be on vacation at the time and was able to dive in and keep going longer than my schedule usually allows. And I was somewhat sad to let it end!
I find TV and the movies to be so uninspiring now and so I spend more free time reading. And the time I do have to escape to fiction I direct myself to “Christian Fiction”, a broad category and one I sometimes find is more fiction than Christian. But I felt you conveyed your love of Jesus without being predictable or overbearing. You gave me what I look for in this genre: ways to look at my life, to question choices, to discover the effects of certain actions, to admire and mimic certain people, to sympathize with others, and to experience another’s struggles and accomplishments in her prayer life.
So if I have to, I will wait another five years for one of your fiction works. Like a good gumbo, some things just can’t be rushed!

    Phyllis Piatt says:

I just finished your first novel and can’t wait until there are more!!! Christian fiction is a blessing and I’m thankful you are now among my favorite authors. God bless your ministery through writing.

    Ann Lovell says:

    Beth,
Such a wonderful Christian novel. Wish there were more like this one. I have been blessed in so many ways in my 80 years of being a Christian. Yes, there have been hardships, but Jesus and my faith brought me through it all. He continues to bless me every day,
I pray that He will inspire you to write another.

    God bless you,
    Ann

Such an amazing book! I couldn’t put it down! It renewed my hope in what opening your heart can do. Can’t wait for your next one!
