Houston Tuesday Night Bible Study for All Women Starts Jan. 21st!

Houston Area Ladies! It’s that time of year when we’re beside ourselves with joy  to invite you to our January-March Tuesday night Bible study! God has blessed us with favor to meet as a very diverse community of women from every background and denomination at the central location of Houston’s First Baptist Church on 7401 Katy Freeway. We love Pastor Gregg and Kelly Matte so much and we do not take this privilege lightly.

We launch our brand new 7-session series on Tuesday January 21st at 6:30 in the main auditorium. We hope to see many familiar faces but we also hope to serve hundreds of women who are new to the study of Scripture and haven’t quite awakened to the love of Jesus Christ. If you’ve been with us before, come again! And this time, bring somebody brand new! Somebody less-discipled! We’re hoping that this series will blow fresh air into the lungs of seasoned believers but also lend itself well to women who have very little background in the Bible. Pray that for us and with us!

The name God placed on my heart for this 7 week series is Breath: The Life of God in Us. Our goal through the series will be to spotlight places in Scripture where the Spirit of God quickens the lives of people like us, empowering and invigorating individuals to do in Jesus’ Name what cannot be done by human flesh and blood alone.

If you’re weary and worn out, we pray God will use this series to put iron in your soul. If you’re weak and defeated, we pray God will use this series to infuse you with a strength wholly beyond you. If you’ve never had the faith to believe, we pray God will pour His Spirit out on you and bring you to new life in Christ: the life you were placed on this planet to live. If you’ve felt for years like God has called you to some kind of purpose but you have no idea what, we’re praying He might use this series to fill you with insight and direction. If you’ve been a believer for decades but it’s been a while since you’ve felt the fire of Christ in your bones, we pray God will use this series to revive you.

We are believing God to reveal Himself powerfully to us and we don’t want to miss anything He desires throughout these 7 weeks. I’m asking Him to pour out His Spirit on me in 2014 in ways that exceed what He’s done in the past. Maybe you’re asking Him the same kind of thing. Let’s go make ourselves available to Him corporately through worship and the study of Scripture for these 7 Tuesday nights and see what He’d invest in us to make our 2014 vastly glorifying to His Name.

All women are welcome, including those with very different beliefs or those who have little interest in spiritual things. If you are willing to come, we are anxious to welcome you and serve you and, because we know God to be faithful to His Word, we believe wholeheartedly that your time will not be wasted.

Needless to say, there’s no cost to attend. I wish we could offer childcare but it is just impossible for us to pull off on Tuesday nights. Carpool if you have several friends coming but, also, don’t hesitate to come alone. We never know how many to anticipate but we certainly hope to anticipate you. You could not be more welcome. Come and see.

If you’re in the Houston area but unable to join us or you’re from other places around the country and globe, please say a prayer for us! We want so much to bring glory to Christ, to be used by Him to extend the outreach of His powerful hand, and to serve women in His merciful Name. If you happen to be in the city on one of these Tuesday nights, go grab some Tex-Mex for supper then come worship and study with us! We’d be thrilled to have you. Dearest love to you and I hope to see you soon!

There was a time when I thought “What if Beth doesn’t write them fast enough and I don’t have a bible study to do?” Now I know they are better the second and third time around. I’m so glad that God is keeping you working on new material for me! LOL

Our ladies small group has just started “Here and Now, There and Then”. Today was session 2. At the end, Beth read something she wrote..a visual? Is there a way to get a copy of it? It was so good. I kept saying “I’m not going to cry, I’m not going to cry” and kept my eyes down. At the end, how surprised I was to see the tears rolling down other ladies faces as well.

I will most definitely be praying for you, Beth, & have been burdened to since you shared your “word for the year” post. eager to see what the Lord will do! and just want you to know, you have had one of the profoundest spiritual impacts on my life. My firstborn, Phoebe Elizabeth, is named so in part because of you. Your ministry and voice is precious to me! keep at it, and I’ll be praying for it all and for you from the mountains of NC.

Beth…just wanted to say thank you for the free ebooks I downloaded recently. What a blessing! In the middle of “When Godly People..” This one is different from you but I can see and read the urgency of it! God has laid on my heart for the year two words, faith & trust…but ‘alert’ is not far behind them! I believe these days are short and I feel my Papa God wants those of us in the faith to be encouraging others! Thank you for being encouragement to me as you continue to listen to your Papa God! I love how Ezekiel 37:1-10 describes the breath of God. Literally, in 10 verses the breath of God brings understanding, order, strength and life. Pastor Morris says that a quick blast of air from His nostrils parted the Red Sea and a sneeze of God can flood out the enemy! Poetic huh? 🙂
Anyway, I wish I could be there to study the scripture with all you beautiful, lovely women. I will be praying that the Word will bring each of you understanding, order, strength and life!
    Love!

    Tanya says:

Hi Beth. Nothing to do with your Houston study. Thanks for serving though. I wanted to say I’m reading “Jesus the one and only”–and the only description we have of Jesus in Isaiah. Your heart resonated with mine. I understand. I wanted to Share though that that verse may be one of my favorites–because it gives reality to the idea that Our High Priest can identify with us. Many are not beautiful And possibly many more are ‘despised and rejected’

Just a thought. My savior is beautiful though. Regardless of what the holy word of God says. 🙂

    Christene says:

Hi, I am the woman who fell (should say face planted) at the Houston Celebration and I just wanted to thank your staff and the staff at the Church for caring so well for me. I was pretty shook up and in a great deal of pain and everyone could not have been kinder to me. I am back home in Canada now and feeling much better. I now have a mosaic splashed across the one side of my face and am sore but other than that am doing well. Thank you all again – you lived out all that you say you believe so well. Praise God.

Oh, Christene! I am so happy to hear from you. Sister, we have talked about you and prayed for you. Again, we are so, so sorry. I’m praying right now for quick healing and minimal pain. You are a trooper. And praise God you didn’t let it get in the way of you enjoying your weekend and soaking in the word, because it could have easily turned to that. Blessings and full healing to you!

I’m singing a song and it goes like this…Where oh where have my LPM friends gone? Or where oh where could they be…I’m smiling cuz I love ya but I’m frowning cuz I miss ya’. It’s just been too quiet around here. What’s a girl to do? I guess I’ll just keep singing Where oh where…Grin.

I am praying for you all this morning, as you start this new study. I do pray that many women would come who don’t know The Lord so that they would trust in Him alone for salvation…praying also that He would show up in a way that is completely life changing. I pray also that Siesta Mama Beth would be filled with the Spirit to the full, and that she would be used mightily by Him tonight. I Love you all at LPM. Blessings to you all today!

    Hey ladies 🙂
I’m really excited that y’all are doing this study,
I can’t wait to share it with my church 🙂
I learned first about the Holy Spirit thru AG Lotz
a few years ago, and it began a churning in me
and then my pastors wife Delta, she did a message
about “Jesus Christ Full of a Grace and Truth”
and more of a churning inside me began…
I went on this spiritual journey about grace…
I hope you touch on rhema word, Beth, because learning to
walk in the revelation of His Word has been life changing
for me, and if you’ve read some of that journey
then you know that. But the fact the Holy Spirit always comes
before God speaks…it’s been huge in how I live life,
So grateful that He sees us and wants that relationship
with us, and pursues us 🙂 He is about grace and truth and
    they go together 🙂 xo
