Pop Quiz!

Hey, Sweet Things! How about a pop quiz?? Come on, let’s do it! But only under one condition: NO CONDEMNATION. Not one iota and I mean it. If you’re down on yourself today or somebody’s made you feel dumb or if you’ve been compulsively running like a wild woman from every spiritual discipline like we all do sometimes, you get a hall pass. This is just for fun for those who think this kind of thing is a bit exhilarating. Translation: it’s Nerd Day in Siestaville. If you’re not into the classroom thing, pass this post by and catch up on some old ones. We’ll post a new one soon.

For those of you who want to participate, please limit your comments to the question number and briefest possible response. Some of them will be simple yeses and nos. On the questions that apply, you can by all means use your Bibles but try to answer as many as possible without them. You might consider the object of the game to see how fast you can answer all of these amid the page flipping. Needless to say,  you’ll need to answer your questions without reading any of the comments first. Cheating would be a tad counterproductive. Grin. You might do the test on a Word document then copy and paste it in your comment.

1. Have you been in the Scriptures today?

2. If so, what’s the primary verse you remember?

3. What is the major theme God seems to have going with you right now? (Answer in a phrase)

12. Those of us who are in Christ have not received a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear. What exactly did we receive instead according to that same context?

13. Name three characteristics of the Proverbs 31 woman.Try to answer first from memory.

19. Name two people you’ve encouraged today.

23. What would the sons of Korah rather do than dwell in the tents of wickedness?

Bonus: Are you memorizing a Scripture right now? If so, tell it to us!

Thanks so much for playing today! If you hated it, we’ll try to do something you like better soon.

You’re a huge blast to me.

Beth

Boy – you can sure tell we are students of the Word taught by Beth Moore and Jesus Himself! I did this just by myself and loved the challenge of it. Only missed two – I think – but loved how I had some of the same random answers as others here! This was fun…

I will tell you that I am memorizing Isaiah 62 at present time and only have the first 4 verses memorized – but I only started last week.

    Isaiah 62:1-4 NIV
For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent; for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,
til her righteous shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.
The nations will see your righteousness and all kings your glory.
You will be called by a new name that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.
You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD’s hand,
a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
No longer will they call you Deserted,
    or name your land Desolate.
But you will be called Hephzibah [meaning: my delight is in her]
    and your land Beulah,
for the LORD will delight in you and your land will be married.

I have 8 more verses to go in this chapter! Last year I memorized Isaiah 53 … so this is the next chapter of Isaiah that the LORD HIMSELF asked me to memorize!

Thanks for the challenge of this pop quiz and for making my brain have to work hard to memorize scripture.

After memorizing James with your ABIDE method – it all comes much easier now…. still hard work but the Spirit gives a leg up doing it your way!

    Choosing JOY,
    Stephanie

So proud of you for memorizing Psalm 25, Valerie!

      • I am too and thank you for that comment! I don’t think anyone should wait until they aren’t too busy to begin memorizing. I’m busy and I just seem to find all kinds of times to work on it. The benefits are so evident to me and yet hard to put into words. I’ve enjoyed bible study for years and years, but memeorizing has been a different joy. Thank you so much Beth.
